Stayed here over Valentines weekend and had a most amazing stay. Initial impression was that it was very homely and very cosy. The Wychwood room we stayed in was lovely and very comfortable, staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Ian the manager and simon were fantastic. Valentines dinner was one of the nicest meals we have... More

What a real shame, such a promising start with a beautiful building and welcoming staff but what let the afternoon down was the standard of food. The sandwiches were ok but the scones and the cakes were dreadful. I have never eaten a scone that was so dry they almost turned to dust and how can you get every cake... More

Dear Suzanne We were very disappointed to read your review on the afternoon tea you had here at Burford House yesterday afternoon. We were even more disappointed that you did not feel that you could express your disappointment to any of our members of staff and requesting a box to take home your remaining cakes and scones certainly did not... We met up with friends for a one night stay at Buford House. What a lovely reception we got when we arrived. Lovely lady showed us around this gorgeous place and then to our room. Our room was lovely. Huge bed and lovely size room with all facilities. In the morning we had breakfast. The breakfast room was spotless with... More

Centrally situated in the village, this is a clean, very welcoming establishment. Our room was quite spacious and the large bed very comfortable. The restaurant was only open for breakfast which was well cooked and plentiful..

A beautiful building in the middle of a beautiful town. The common areas are stylish and comfortable. Our room was large, beautifully furnished and decorated, with a lovely 4-poster bed and extremely well appointed with everything you could want. The only downside was the shower and loo - the bathroom looked very nice upon first appearance but the shower cubicle... More

This is a beautiful boutique hotel that is full of character and warmth. We were welcomed by the manager Ian and shown to our suite (2 separate bedrooms, washroom with tub & shower, separate room for toilet). There are 2 lovely sitting areas downstairs that were inviting and cosy, as well as the breakfast room (for us-breakfast, although I understand... More

Burford House is an ideal place to stay in the pretty village of Burford. Ian is a great host and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was super along with home made biscuits in room! We would recommend to all who prefer not to stay in sanitised hotel chains. Well done Ian and all your... More

We spent last weekend at Burford House as part of a birthday celebration. After receiving a warm welcome from Ian we were shown to our room which was large, spotlessly clean and very quiet, overlooking the courtyard at the rear. The huge bed was extremely comfortable and antique furniture added to the charm, plus tea, coffee and homemade biscuits, TV... More
