Very olde worlde hotel just of the main high street. Very atmospheric, stone flagged floors, heavily beamed ceilings, good service and beautiful restaurant. Lots of open fires, very cosy. We didn’t have an evening meal but the breakfast was of good quality and lots of it. The rooms are well equipped, Molton Brown toiletries, dressing gowns, hair dryers, etc and... More

Set in the Cotswols is always going to be a bonus but this hotel backed the experience up completely. We attended a wedding lunch reception there yesterday and was really impressed. We received the menu a week ahead. There were five starters, five mains and five desserts. I started with the goat's cheese which was gently grilled, smooth and tangy... More

Our trip here was a gift from a family member. We wouldnt usually opt for this type of break but thought we would enjoy it nonetheless. On arrival we were greated extremely warmly and felt right at home, we were taken to our room which was superb & really comfortable. We had a few drinks in the hotel bar which... More

We have stayed at a number of the hotels owned by the parent company and can honestly say that we have always had impeccable service and the hotels themselves are decorated well and you are made to feel very relaxed and comfortable in the surroundings. However, we stayed at the Bay Tree again in December and we were surprised at... More

My wife and I stayed here for one night and really enjoyed this lovely hotel in possibly the Cotswolds most attractive town. The hotel was converted from a row of old weavers cottages and consequently is rather warren-like but this adds to it's charm. We stayed in the "Sycamore" room which was large and comfortable with a very good bathroom... More

we didn't stay at this hotel but visited for lunch. The starters of soup for three of us and one goats cheese were very nice. The roast beef dinners for two were a bit on the tough side. My son and I had the sea bass which was pleasant but on a bed of leaves. Would have been much nicer... More

Just returned from a truly wonderful wedding here, the whole experience, from the roaring log fires to the gorgeous garden room and the superbly executed arrangements, was top class, the place is quite magical.

Booked a one night super Sunday package stay for my partner and I. Burford itself is the quintessential Cotswold town. Steeped in history and charming Cotswold architecture. On arrival at the Bay Tree the welcome was not as warm and friendly as we would expect. At the front desk, the receptionist said, quite curtly, 'May I help you'? I said... More
