We were looking for somewhere to eat & most pubs in Burford had stopped serving food for the afternoon & we were advised to try The Priory Restaurant! It was a glorious afternoon & all the outside seating at the front was taken so we sat in the window seat looking out onto Burford's beautiful High Street although there is... More

I had a good feeling about this place when I booked it. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful and made us feel at home as soon as we arrived after a hard day's walking. The accommodation is basic but very clean and the beds were comfy and rooms had everything we needed. The breakfast was fantastic and set us up... More

We were suggested to visit for a nice drink so wandered in and sat in the lovely garden. We were served promptly and ordered our cream tea to share and a latte. It didn't take long and we were enjoying the sun and food. Good prices, pleasant atmosphere and nice fare.

I had a two night break at The Priory, and was very happy with my stay. I had a single room in the garden building, quite simple but with plenty of space for clothes etc. There was no ensuite or even a washbasin, but a washroom and shower were close by, an arrangement which I prefer to having an ensuite... We were looking for reasonably priced rooms as we only had two nights in the area and would be out hiking most of the time. A friend mentioned the Priory to me and I must say that the photos on line were exactly how the rooms were. Excellent value for money and really cosy and I slept well even though... More

I learned a useful lesson when looking on the spot for accommodation in Burford. The tourist information office could find nothing available in the village. I asked whether they had listings of all the possibilities in the village, and they said that they did not. I suspect that the listed properties pay a fee to be listed. So I walked... More

The 4 of us sat outside and had a lovely quick lunch here. We had beer, soft drinks, tea etc and then sandwich's, quiche and soup. The beer was a local bottled pale ale which was good. All of it appeared freshly made and was very tasty. The quiche especially looled good and I don't like the stuff! The service... More

We called at this establishment and had a very nice cup of coffee and teacake with strawberry jam. We sat out at the rear of the restaurant in their secluded garden with all its lovely flowers and it really is very relaxing and pleasant place for refreshment in this ancient town. Their main menu also looks very promising.

This is our fist time eating at this establishment as we were heartbroken to find that the Copper Kettle up the hill had changed hands. The restaurant was very busy but the staff coped very well and the service was very good. Foods was very nice and good value for the area. The only gripe that has stopped me from... More

Myself and two companions visited Burford on 25th January 2013 with snow still all around. It was 11am and as we had not eaten that morning we were inticed by the Priory Special Breakfast which was available up to 11.30am. What a lovely feast it was. A beautifully cooked full english breakfast for £4.95. Also had a very nice cup... More
