We had an excellent cream tea with just the right amount of jam and cream for the scone, leaf tea in a pot and friendly service even though we were the last in and they probably wanted to go home. The room was large and airy in an old property on the High Street. Burford is a bit of a... More

We ate here for a very late breakfast after a drive up from London. They accommodated us even though it was past 11.30am. It was a well cooked tasty breakfast. The service was good and the restaurant is clean and well presented. If we go back to Burford then we will definitely stop by again.

Went here on Sunday. Had fishcakes for myself and my partner had a salad , both were just under £10 each. Took ages for the food and then for coffees but the waitress was very pleasant. Food was beautifully presented but the fishcakes didn't look homemade so seemed expensive, also £9.95 for a chicken salad was expensive - this is... More

During our family visit to Burford a small town in the Cotswolds. We came across the Priory Restaurant with its cosy ambience. This well run restaurant with its friendly and efficient staff makes you feel welcome. The menu has something for everyone and you won't be disappointed at the value for mone that's being offered. If you still have a... More

Rooms are in the garden so do lack character. Also there were no toiletries provided apart from liquid soap. Wet room which had the toilet in as well meant the whole floor stayed wet if someone had a shower. However the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and that makes such a difference. They ensured our bikes were locked away... More

We were walking the High Street of Burford looking for a place to have a coffee. We passed up several places before choosing the Priory. The initial reason was the prices. We understand that this is a touristy place with the accompanying prices. We had a coffee, tea, and 2 scones for about 1//2 the price that other places were... More

Been here twice in the last two weeks. Had sweet chilli and honey chicken salad (a starter) with chips each time. Always get a seat, there is seating in or outside. Waiter comes to see you in a good time. The first time, our waiter was great. Didn't catch his name but he had a blue/purple quiff and was just... More

Passing through Burford early one Saturday morning, we tried this place for breakfast and were very impressed. The "english breakfast" was substantial and contained good quality ingredients. The surroundings were nice, the staff were polite and cheerful and the prices very reasonable. Highly recommended ... we would visit again if in the area.

Dropped in for a 'quick'!? Coffee on a bike ride c.1100 on a Friday morning. This is the 4th time I've been here and the location is lovely. In fact each time I've been to Burford I drop in to the Priory and I will continue to patronise this establishment. However, the service on every single visit has been terribly... More

The accommodation off the courtyard is compact, quiet and very clean. The shower controls were very confusing and the owner has said he will write some plain instructions. Other than that it was great. Breakfast in the morning was excellent though starting at 9am is too late for travellers who wish to get on their way at a reasonable time.
