We lasted two minutes at so called hotel. A weekend in Iraq would be more safe than this hotel! U wouldn't safe if u stayed here! And wouldn't want to leave any belongs. As they would all be gone! Best thing bout the place was leaving. Shocking that they changed £60

Stayed here for a night out with friends. Yes, it's being refurbed, yes its not 5* hotel but honestly it was very good value when we went (we paid 15-17 per room). Staff were helpful. Our room even had a small kitchen and all 3 rooms we were given were clean, with working showers, wifi .etc and had or were... More

The worst place I ever stayed in my life. This shouldn't be open they say they are doing a refurb on it but that's no excuse it never should be rated as 3 stars it a shame 1 star rating is the lowest as it doesn't deserve 1 star. On the website it said it had a bar and snooker... More

This is an amazing hotel if you want to start a careear in prostition! Filled all your essentials- doors filled with concreate with what appeared to be punched though. Exreemly dirty flour. Unfriendly and rude reseption. No running water in the kitchen utility, freezing cold, fire alarm went off for no reason, a tiny mirrior. Dodgy dirty old cups, the... More

A visiting friend found it to be Very dirty, old and smelly...No breakfast and poor service and very smelly....I am hearing it was self assessed, so poss 1 star, should not be called a Hotel - also. Apparently place being refurbished, rubbish outside is an eyesore? . 'Do not stay unless desperate'

After reading the trip advisor reviews I was really worried about staying here after booking and not properly reading anything about the hotel. However, I didn't think that the neighbourhood was too unfriendly, the staff were nice enough also. The halls in the hotel did smell of smoke. The room was very basic but bed sheets and towels were clean.... More

Only stayed because we were late for a evening meet up. To advertise itself as a hotel is a misrepresentation. The Clarence is poorly maintained hostel. Reception was grim and unreceptive. The room smelled of urine; the carpet was sticky and bald; no wardrobe; lovely view over semi-demolished buildings and rubbish; TV not working. Sheets and towels were clean but... More
