Excellent service, really good atmosphere, good student discount too! Would recommend yo people wanting to have dinner or go for a drink! Upcoming regeneration, everywhere looking very suave and upmarket

Stopped here as the first pub on a pub craw and didn't leave! The bar area was lovely with chesterfield style furniture and open fire, very comfortable and friendly staff. Lovely lazy afternoon a very relaxed atmosphere. Hotel currently undergoing major refurb but this didn't affect our enjoyment.

I have called to this hotel on couple of occasions and the reception staff has put phone down on me and second time i rang they never answered. Not really helpfull when you looking for room and they slam phone on you!

WOULD NOT ADVISE ANYONE TO STAY HERE.VERY POOR customer sevice ,VERY noisy , left with NO breakfast because waiter forgot we ordered . Reception could only offer 20% discount and couldn't take price of breakfast off . There was NO MANAGEMENT to deal with this problem . Got told she would call me at 11 on that day( Sunday) .... Right from the off this was going to be difficult, we had specifically booked the King suite, instead we got a , quote "very nice" lodge suite across the road from the hotel. Very nice in this case means small, I could touch opposite walls with outstretched arms in the bathroom in both directions! No soap and one small shampoo... More

We stayed here for a friends wedding in Nottingham We chose the hotel for the apparent character as we wanted something different to the usual corporate style and in this respect The Walton definitely delivered. Nice hotel being refurbished at the moment. Friendly and approachable staff. Pleasant atmosphere and in a good location. Our visit however was jaded slightly by the breakfast situation. We were not offered tea or coffee at any time in our half hour down there. A cooked breakfast didn't enter the room either to any of the guests or was offered.... More

Stayed with a party of 20 for a 40 year anniversary celebration. Service was excellent, as was the food. Only complaints would be the ultra slow check-in with one harassed and overworked hotel person on duty and having to cope as queues built up - the check-out experience was worse and longer - around 20 minutes of hanging around. Booked hotel mainly for restaurant to celebrate 60th. Was not advised that restaurant closed for refurbishing at time if booking or on checkin. Overheated room dirty toilet leaking sink and bedroom floor wet floor half eaten biscuits in bedside cabinet.
