This hotel has been refurbished in a very trendy and stylish way - we loved it! We booked an Executive Double and were very pleased with the size, décor and nice bathroom. Communal areas such as lounge and breakfast area were very cosy and beautifully styled. We did have a few minor room cleanliness and maintenance issues but these were... More

Stayed here for two nights for business and found staff to be pleasant, decor very good and breakfast hearty. The hotel is between the main Market Square (max. 10 mins walk), the castle (3 mins walk) and so is a good location for a weekend break or for work (e.g. your other half can go shopping or sightseeing whilst you... Booked this hotel with friends to celebrate my 50th Birthday. Unfortunately this fact was ignored by the hotel which was very noticeable when the previous evening my husband and I had stayed at the Nottingham Belfry where we were given a free upgrade to a suite and a bottle of bubbly and box of chocolates as a birthday gift. Lucky... More

We booked the hotel when it was still called Rutland Square Hotel for a birthday bash for my wife along with friends. The hotel is very much a boutique hotel and we loved the décor. we were in room 602 on the top floor, it was quiet and had a view of the castle. We didn't eat in the hotel... More

The location of St James is fantastic as it is so close to the Castle and many other tourist attractions. The entrance lobby is very impressive and character is added to the bar area by having TV style screens showing a roaring fire or at breakfast fish swimming. The carpets in the lifts are very loud and sun glases needed.... More

Little funky hotel a minutes walk from the castle and some great pubs and restaurants. The only downside was that my room looked out over the carpark and was very stuffy. I had the fan on but that didnt really help

I stayed in the hotel for night with my husband, and was immediately impressed with the look of the hotel. The decor was simple and stunning, the rooms cosy and clean. The bar staff were a little slow but was more to do with staffing levels rather than anything else! Defiantly would stay again!

I visited the hotel with a friend for an overnight stay to a conference nearby. We booked the hotel well in advance which incurred a problem when we checked in as they seemed to have a problem finding our booking. Nevertheless we found the stay perfect for our requirements. The room was nicely decorated and the hotel had some lovely... More

We have stayed twice at St.James Hotel. Once in the penthouse and once in one of the four poster rooms, neither disappointed. The reception staff are polite and helpful. Both of the bedrooms certainly have the wow factor!! As for breakfast there is a good selection of food and again the staff were very helpful, they even nipped to Tesco... More

This was a wonderful weekend break with the other half, we booked a suite at a reasonable price and were not disappointed. The room was very well decorated with huge bed and ample space. Bathroom was very clean. The location is great for town centre, and we arrived shortly after check in opened at about 14:30 - and checked in... More
