Stayed here for a family wedding. We had two king size rooms. One was larger than the other and one had better views. Both were comfortable but I agree with some reviews that the public areas (stair carpet) and some aspects of the rooms need smartening up. However, you get what you pay for and for a hotel in a... Who hasn't secretly wanted free run of a pub? Especially one replete with quirky, quintessentially English charm and interesting nooks and crannies that you can fill with your favourite people? Well that is exactly what we did when we held our evening wedding reception at the Cock and Hoop pub, attached to the Lace Market Hotel. Throw in everyone's favourite... More

Booked here for a one night stay and having seen the website thought it looked great, quite Hotel du Vin in style, which I love. In hindsight and as a regular Trip Advisor user there really is no excuse for me, I didn't check the reviews and our stay was really disappointing. So firstly check in was fine, first impressions... Lovey hotel in a beautiful area of nottingham. Rooms are a decent size and clean but could do with a few small things, New shower heads, deep clean of the tile grout, etc. The carpet on the stairs and hall could also do with being replaced. We had a room overlooking the beautiful little church. Wonderful...untill 3am when the young... More

Cannot fault this hotel, arrived Saturday and we were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff , they informed us that we had been upgraded to a king room which was very nice, very modern and spacious. We had breakfast the next day which was lovely ,you are given a menu to choose from continental or full English. I would... More

We stayed in one of the suites a while back and were not hapy with some aspects of our stay. We discussed this with the manager and they agreed that it wasn't up to scratch but invited us to visit again once they had made improvements. We've finally been back and are very glad we did. The room was lovely;... More

Stayed as a treat for a friend in a superior room. There is nothing superior about the rooms. Windows don't open, decor and furniture old and needs replacing. Sold as a Finesse hotel, seen as a dump. The only plus, the staff were nice and helpful. The linked pub is filthy, depressing and smells. The sign in the lift states... More

I cannot fault the (young) and friendly reception staff. I arrived and having requested a quiet room away from the main thoroughfares was given a room on the 3rd floor at the back. It turned out to be stiflingy hot due to the towel rail being permanently on at full blast. As mentioned in other reviews it is impossible to... More

This was our second visit after a decent stay six years ago. I’ll start by commending three excellent young women on the staff: Kirsty, the helpful, informed and friendly receptionist (catchphrase: "Not a problem!"), her colleague at reception and the bartender who made me the best Bloody Mary I've had in ages. That said, I do feel that the hotel... More
