I have not been in such a terrible hotel ever in England. For the price £75 per night booked week earlier the service was very unprofessional, the manager at the desk was unhelpful and the room in poor state, carpet not hoovered for awhile, very small 'double' bed, small room, TV old and switched off after 30 min of playing,... So maybe for the budget price , I could ignore the filthy carpets , room not being ready at checkin & having to wait an hour, having a camp bed that would just be big enough for a child let alone an adult, pre booking twin rooms & getting a double , appalling breakfast, horrendous smell in the corridors and... Very disappointed. The motel is old and tired and grubby. We asked for non-smoking rooms and were placed in one directly next door to a smoking room so the thick fog of smoke made it difficult to breathe. When we complained about this upon check out, the response was an insincere apology. The reception staff were slack and grumpy. Whilst... More

as a visiting coach driver on tour with a group of pensioners to the britannia I found it perfectly adequate for my needs...but I did have a few issues to point out firstly the toilet in my room was tilting at an angle and something had been jammed under the bend to stop it tilting further..the toilet flush was loose... A good hotel ruined by cost and corner cutting. Grubby run down room. No wifi unless you sit in reception. The breakfast...omg. it takes real effort to make a breakfast that bad. Stay here only if your desperate, or blind, or have a cold so you cant taste the breakfast crud

I stayed here for one night. The room was large but dated. I didn't pay very much but still this was not a great hotel for what I did pay. My room did not have a shower forcing me to have a bath in the morning. The hotel was centrally located which was helpful.

Arrived for an IPA pool tournament which in itself was absolutely top notch as always, though sadly the hotel left a lot to be desired - filthy dirty, thin towels, carpets worn out, mirrors grimy - on the good side drink and food was cheap but instant coffee for Saturday breakfast - thats as bad as it gets. Sleeping is... More
