This hostel is well run, friendly staff & clean. The building we were put in (separate from the main reception) has a lot of stairs with no lift so not good for the disabled or elderly. There wasn't so much of a social vibe but as a travelling couple we weren't bothered by this. The double bed rooms were comfortable... More

I travelled alone and stayed after a rock city gig. Check in efficient and think I paid 16 or 18 for a bed for a night which is fine. Hostel quite quiet, food making facilities ok. Not a long walk from city centre. Ideal for gig goers, single people, groups of mates.

This was just awful. I've backpacked throughout South America and Asia, and this was by far the worse. The conditions were just unhealthy and miserable. I was sharing a room with two homeless/unemployed people. I understand that people end up down on their luck, but they shouldn't be allowed to stay at a backpackers' hostel. They refused to refund my... More

We strongly object to your statement - "conditions were just unhealthy and miserable" This is simply untrue. We work very hard to ensure that our premises are kept modern, secure and very clean and provide comfort features in all our rooms including memory foam or orthopedic mattresses, Freeview TV and free wifi. Our kitchens are fully-equipped and cleaned several times... More

I stayed in the Igloo Backpackers Hostel in Nottingham and loved it. Nice cosy rooms, free wifi and safe and secure. It's on Mansfield Road too so near the free bus system and walking distance to all the main sights in town.

I booked to stay here for 4 nights in a 6 mixed dorm. Upon arrival I was advised that after 2 nights I'd have to change rooms - very inconvenient however it ended up for the best! My first 2 nights were in the 'Raft' room (building #106). It was a 4 bed dorm and awful.. the room was tiny,... More

I cannot fault Igloo in anyway. The staff were lovely, the rooms were clean and of a good size. I stayed in a mixed dorm which is capable of sleeping 5 and throughly enjoyed my stay. I was a solo traveler on a budget and the mixed dorm fulfilled my requirements admirably. I was very impressed with the shower room... More

I didn't expect much as there was a very little choice of hostels in Nottingham, but I ended up staying for a night longer. Place is newly refurbished, nicely decorated with paintings on the walls, very clean and comfortable. Great bathrooms, also very clean. Dorm room for 4 people even had tv and a small table with mirrow above. It... More

Stayed here last Saturday night with my family with teenager kids and a little daughter. Never disappointed with the stay as we were all together in a comfortable room with comfy beds. We've been warned that because our room is in the front side of the street, it might be noisy or bit stuffy inside. But there was a fan... More

Incredible hostel! The staff were super friendly, the room was clean and the wi-fi was fast. They even gave us a map with loads of recommendations when we checked in! Also the best and most equipped kitchen I've ever experienced at a hostel, and immaculate bathrooms. The whole hostel has a really nice atmosphere and it's really close to the... More

Stayed here for 1 night with a couple of friends, we were joining up with friends on a stag do who were staying in the city centre. Check in was smooth, we were led across the road to a different property which didn't bother us much and the check in guy (who was very helpful) gave us the keys and... More
