I stayed here with a friend for 2 nights (mid-week) when we visited Alton Towers. Upon arrival we were offered a welcome tray (homemade chocolate cake-mousse affair and fresh coffee) and a seat in the lovely garden; a lovely way to open our stay. We were in a twin room consisting of a bathroom with double shower and separate bath,... More

My husband and I have just returned from a very relaxing overnight stay in this beautiful house. A gift from our daughter for our 27th wedding anniversary. On arrival we were met by Naomi who made us feel very welcome, serving us coffee and home made scones with fresh cream and home made jam from the fruit in her garden.... More

My husband booked Stanshope Hall as a Christmas present for me. We stayed in February of 2013 and have returned two more times and our fourth visit is booked for October 2014. It really is a fantastic find. The hall is in a very small quaint village and has amazing views of the peak district. It's so lovely to hear... More

Stayed one night, staff very friendly, house absolutely beautiful, we felt like we were staying with friends! Naomi the owner served lovely home made scones and flapjacks, the gardens are lovely, all the decor fascinating! The only drawback, the twin bedded room was very small and not much room to move around the beds! Beautiful bathroom though! We would stay... More

Sadly we could only stay one night in the magnificent front room, light, elegant, nicely appointed, with views to die for. This room has fine proportions, those of a country house, not a farm. Quietness, save for the sheep. Would love to return soon.

We have just stayed at the Stanshope Hall B and B . The location is so secluded and even with the rain the view from the bedroom window was so beautiful. We had the Kings room which was very comfortable . The bath is gorgeous in the on suite. The bedroom and bathroom was spotless. We found the staff friendly and... More

A friend and I returned to Stanshope Hall after a lovely stay there a couple of years ago. It was as good as ever. Delightful building, welcoming staff, delicious breakfast, and comfortable rooms where you have to pay a very limited supplement for single occupancy. The walking is terrific all around the house, and the nearby George pub is a... More

We were looking for somewhere peaceful and relaxing to get away from it all and this was the perfect place. We cycled the Tissington Trail and Carsington Water and wanted to stay somewhere nearby and Stanshope Hall was a great location for our needs. There is only really one pub near enough to walk to, 'The Watts Russell". The George... More

The building, room and surroundings are excellent. Whilst licensed, according to it's information, obtaining a bottle of wine is much more difficult! Needs an honesty bar or equivalent as I suspect the hosts are not really on hand in the evening. Onset of the desire for alcohol is not entirely predictable. The breakfast was a little disappointing with a variable... More
