Gorgeous old property with beautiful gardens. The surroundings are so tranquil and beautiful with hardly a soul to be seen. There are only three rooms to choose from. I went for a superior double and was suitably impressed. There was a huge imposing, ornate wardrobe in the room that I absolutely loved. Also a sofa, a solid wooden bed and... More

This is a fantastic place for a b and b stay in the stunning Dovedale area. A period house with very comfortable accommodation. Lynn the housekeeper and Jez the gardener went out of their way to make our stay a good one. Even served tea and flapjacks in the beautiful garden when we arrived. A nice touch.

We stayed one night at Stanshope Hall. The location is extremely rural - as in there is one farmhouse, some farm buildings and fields. For me, this was a negative point, as I thought we would be in a small village, but some people might prefer this setting. Positives: ======= - The breakfast was the best we had during our... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was just what we wanted; so comfortable and the views from the windows were lovely. Being a gardener I really appreciated the gardens all around the property! The quirky painted walls really did add to the individuality of this B&B. Very comfortable bed, large room. The breakfast was just right: a very good... More

We enjoyed 5 nights at Stanshope Hall. The location is beautiful, as is the house and the well-tended garden, and our room had a great view of the hills. It has a large sitting room for guests with murals on the walls. A special map they provided was very helpful in finding our way around and places to eat and... More

Stanshope Hall is nestled in a gorgeously peaceful national park. Historical little hamlets and villages surround the area. Seeing the picturesque patchwork pastures of the beautiful hilly countryside on the drive to Stanshope Hall is something that will remain in our memories for years. But above the landscape surrounding Stanshope is beauty of the inn itself and the outstanding hospitality... More

We were given this break as a Xmas gift so chose to go for my birthday weekend. There's only 3 rooms here and I was the last to book so we got the twin room. It was really lovely, more of a mini suite of rooms with a lovely big bathroom with separate shower, and separate toilet. They provide a... More

This guest house is in a stunning location, and very handy for Ashbourne where we were attending the wonderful Royal Shrovetide Football. We had the master bedroom, which was large and very comfortable, and for February, very warm. It had a great bathroom attached too. We were met by the owner and a fire was burning in the hearth on...
