This guest house is in a stunning location, and very handy for Ashbourne where we were attending the wonderful Royal Shrovetide Football. We had the master bedroom, which was large and very comfortable, and for February, very warm. It had a great bathroom attached too. We were met by the owner and a fire was burning in the hearth on... Stanshope Hall is set in a beautiful rural location. We arrived after a long, cold, bike ride, and were welcomed with hot drinks and homemade flapjack by an open fire. Certainly no issues with hot water, and our twin room was lovely and warm. We ate at the nearby George at Alstonefield - another place I would recommend. The little... More

I stayed here whilst celebrating my Girlfriends fathers 70th birthday. Stanshope Hall is a lovely building which really does have the wow factor both inside and out. On arrival we were greeted by Naomi, who made us feel welcome and at home in an instant. Our room was the master room which was spacious and well decorated. I really wish... More

We stayed here over two nights in the upgraded King room with views over the surrounding countryside. From the time of making the original booking through to arrival and eventual departure the service provided was of a very high standard. Breakfast was tasty and well provisioned on each day. The Hall is full of different furniture, creaky floorboards, and exudes... More

Beautiful old building in excellent setting, very welcome tea and cake in front of the fire on arrival. Stayed 2 nights, breakfast a bit slow on both mornings but all fresh and good. Main problem was the hot water ran out both afternoons, so I had 2 cold baths. Very unwelcome after long, cold and muddy walks, and not good... More

We spent two nights in this fabulous B&B. We were made to feel very welcome. A lovely spacious, warm and comfortable room. Very quiet and peaceful location. Highly recommended and great value. Would love to stay again!

Enjoyed an overnight stay on the weekend and would definitely return. The house is charming and quirky, and we were made very welcome. We had supper in the little pub down the road, which we would really recommend (the ice cream is the best I have tasted) and a quiet comfortable night's sleep. Breakfast is immense and we loved the... More

My friend and I met up at Stanshope Hall and enjoyed everything about it. The rooms are spacious, the breakfast delicious, the views beautiful, the gardens well kept and this lovely house is full of charm. It was also incredibly quiet and we had a fabulously undisturbed night's sleep. Would go back again without hesitation.

I stayed here with a friend for 2 nights (mid-week) when we visited Alton Towers. Upon arrival we were offered a welcome tray (homemade chocolate cake-mousse affair and fresh coffee) and a seat in the lovely garden; a lovely way to open our stay. We were in a twin room consisting of a bathroom with double shower and separate bath,... More

My husband and I have just returned from a very relaxing overnight stay in this beautiful house. A gift from our daughter for our 27th wedding anniversary. On arrival we were met by Naomi who made us feel very welcome, serving us coffee and home made scones with fresh cream and home made jam from the fruit in her garden.... More
