We were staying at a cottage in the village and decided to see which of the varied trip advisor reviews was correct. I can now see both sides of the picture. The pub is nicely decorated and the food was very reasonable with ample servings.£90 for 6mains,2childrens meals and two rounds of drinks. They offered to rearrange tables to seat... More

13 friends stayed at the coachhouse- its an old building but there's no excuse for lack of cleaning. Also in dire need of decoration, some damp areas, leaking roof. Wood lice in attic bathrooms. Sitting area good n outside garden is a suntrap. Don't bother with pub food next door.

Having past this place many times we gave it a go, this old coach house has a modern twist inside with it's pleasant restaurant. the service is good and friendly, today there was only one hand pull beer Pedigree but it was in very good condition. The meal was very enjoyable served on modern matching table ware. The pub is... More

First time visit to this pub for Sunday Lunch. Very good quality cooked traditional Sunday Lunch meal which, catered for big appetites so ask for a small portion if needed. Very well presented all on matching white designer style crockery. Service excellent, with helpful staff. Only downside is the lighting. It was rather dark as not all the lights were on... More

Me and my fiancé took our family and met with close for sunday easter lunch and a few drinks. The standard of food was superb. I had a burger and the quality of the meat and homemade chips was unbeatable. Lovely atmosphere and staff. Definately reccommend! xx

12 of us booked a Special wedding anniversary meal. Our group included children, we were warmly welcomed and the staff were all fantastically friendly. We had wonderful table service throughout the evening. The menu has great choice and the food was excellent in all ways. Great portions and great quality. Children were looked after with no trouble at all. Very... More

We drove around the area trying to find a pub that had been recommended for good food. However, as we were both suffering from heavy colds and were in need of some sleep, we came across the Devonshire Arms on the A623. Although there was no-one else visiting, we were made to feel very welcome and a lovely hot fire... More

We were staying locally and called in for Sunday lunch. There were 6 adults and 3 kids. The fire was roaring and the welcome was friendly. The roast beef was the best Sunday lunch we've had out for a long time, home cooked food, great flavours and plenty of it.

Four of us visited at lunch time and the pub wasn't busy. The woman who served us didn't seem particularly happy to do so but we ordered something to eat. The food was generally good but the two who had the pie were disappointed because it was dry and the pastry very hard. The whole experience was disappointing because the... More
