Eight of us stayed at the De Ferrers cottage. It has a lot of character and we were very excited when we arrived. The kitchen was well equipped and had a 5 burner stove and large oven. All the beds were extremely comfortable and there were plenty of towels. There were towelling robes provided which was a nice touch. Lighting... More

Henry's Haunt was very dark and poorly lit. Furnishings and fittings were tired. The oven was good but the electric rings very slow. Reading a newspaper was only possibly by daylight sat by the glass door to the private area outside - ok, hot tub was great! Bring your own supplies of loo paper: the provided small roll and a... We just returned from a stay at the Manor House at Harthill Hall for my partners 40th Birthday. I had organised the whole weekend, including chef and external activities including inviting guests. The house was a big worry, well when you're expecting a lot its natural I guess. As soon as we arrived though, that worry need'nt have been. It... More

This place is amazing!! The internet doesn't do it justice! The rooms are stunning, the landscape round and about is beautiful... the facilities are great... we used the hot tubs, swimming pool, booked massages and catered for a group of 13 of us. The owners were lovely and I can highly recommend this stunning manor house!!

My friends and family organised a surprise long weekend here for my 30th birthday. We were a group of 10 and stayed in Cokaynes. The cottage was just perfect, spacious for a big group and with a nice traditional feel to it. As other reviewers have commented, no the bathrooms weren't modern and yes it was a bit dark, however... I stayed at the Manor House at Harthill Hall recently with a group of friends. The House was absolutely fantastic - well-preserved and very grand. The website does not do the property justice at all; we were looking forward to our stay there after looking at the website but were even more pleasantly surprised by it on arrival. There were... Just arrived back from a long weekend here. Stayed in Henry's Haunt, a pleasant one bedroom cottage with very good facilities. Nice patio with dedicated area for BBQ ( bring your own or use disposable) Hot tub a little jaded but still works fine and for warm weekends is perfect. Rooms all clean and tidy and kitchen facilities are very... More

Myself and the wife have stayed here on 3 occasions and each time in a different room. Make sure you pay the extra and get one with a jacuzzi, you will spend hours in it. The private indoor pool is brilliant and normally you can book it for one or two hours a day. Its only a mile from Bakewell... More

I took my husband away for 2 nights,24th & 25th June, for his birthday. We booked Henry's Haunt. Pre arrival instructions were good. Weather for our stay was fantastic. Henry's haunt offered all we needed (apart from an ironing board, but it did have an iron). The apartment was big enough for 2. Some items were a little dusty, but... More

We stayed tere a week ago it was a family gathering so we booked Cokaynes and the Priest Hole as there were 13 of us. with dogs The Priest Hole was nice and well furnished although the beds were rather small probably because they need to fit into the small rooms. Kitchen well equiped and living area comfortable. Had its... More
