I booked four of the cottages at Harthill Hall and went away with a group of 24 people to celebrate turning 30. The cottages were fantastic and were exactly what we were looking for, clean, comfortable, well equipped and just in a lovely setting with wonderful views. The owners and staff of the site were extremely friendly and kind and... More

We booked Hartle cottage at short notice for a four night midweek break during the first full week of 2015. Having read some of the TripAdvisor comments on the way to the cottage I was a bit concerned. I shouldn't have been. The cottage was great, equipped with everything we needed. The pool and the sauna were also great. Even... More

We stayed in Deferrers over new year with friends. There are some odd features, such as the inexplicably and bizarrely themed rooms and low powered LED lights and I can see how some people, used to sanitised and samey 'Country House Hotels' could find it not to their liking. For us, though, it was perfect. The staff were extremely helpful.... More

I booked The Chapel with 5 friends to celebrate my 40th birthday. When we arrive there was a beautiful wreath on the door, a Christmas tree and a welcome platter of mince pies etc, and some complimentary Gluhwein, really lovely touches. The cottage itself is immaculately clean, superbly equipped and extremely comfortable and cosy - full of character but with... More

We had a lovely warm a cosy stay at Henry's Haunt. It is well looked after and full of character. Harthill Hall is a stunning estate and has been sympathetically converted into holiday cottages. Of course the icing on the cake is the hot tub. After a bracing days walk on the dales it is lovely to come back and... More

We have just returned from a short break at the wonderful little spot. We were rather spoilt as it was a quiet midweek stay at a very good value rate also as there were not many other residents we got to use the indoor pool lots as nobody else wasp rebooking it. The setting is stunning both the location and... More

We just had 3 night stay at the Cockaynes barn conversion. First the meet and greet was excellent, the staff could not have done enough to make us more welcome. The barn sleeps 8-10 but ideally its a good 8 and a sofa bed in the huge dining room - so probably fine for teenagers, or someone crashing for the... More

A big family gathering (15 of us), with something for everyone from great grandmother to little ones and everyone in between, was a huge success. We loved all sitting at the huge table, we loved making discoveries all around the house and the surrounding property. Extremely friendly people taking good care of everything around. Would we go back? We certainly... More

Eight of us stayed at the De Ferrers cottage. It has a lot of character and we were very excited when we arrived. The kitchen was well equipped and had a 5 burner stove and large oven. All the beds were extremely comfortable and there were plenty of towels. There were towelling robes provided which was a nice touch. Lighting... More

Henry's Haunt was very dark and poorly lit. Furnishings and fittings were tired. The oven was good but the electric rings very slow. Reading a newspaper was only possibly by daylight sat by the glass door to the private area outside - ok, hot tub was great! Bring your own supplies of loo paper: the provided small roll and a...
