We met with my wife's school friend and her partner, what a find. They are in the good beer guide but as I was driving I could only have one pint from a wonderful ale list, too long to mention. The food was very tasty with a big selection to choose from. We has the gallery on the mezzanine which... More

Stayed at the Paper mill Inn for one Sunday night. Room was small but had all the required facilities, en suite, nice shower, flat screen TV, tea & coffee & most important, very clean. We had dinner at the Old Hall and when back to the Paper Mill for cheese and port and after dinner drinks, lovely! Bar staff are... More

Enjoyed a lovely late lunch here last Friday. Staff very friendly and efficient. Both myself and my husbands food was delicious. My husband tells me the beer was lovely! The only problem was that throughout the main course someones mobile phone at the next table kept receiving text messages every couple of minutes. I am not sure if they were... More

I'm pleased to hear the part we played in your meal out was to your satisfaction. Mobile phones can be a real nusience nowadays unfortunately. I'm sure a second visit wouldn't be plagued with such a loud phone. Thank you for taking the time to review our Inn Dan More

We stayed in late February 2014 during the weekend of the Beer Festival. For this reason we understood, the usual food menu was not on offer - which was disappointing. However, we did try a bowl of stew on the Friday night and it was excellent. Some great ales on offer - with friendly, chatty bar-maids serving them. Also the... More

I held a 'special' birthday meal for 42 people in the Minstrels' Gallery on 15th Feb. I felt quite nervous about all the arrangements but I needn't have worried because the owner/manager, Dan, was so used to organising big events. He was calm and reassuring, and arranged everything to perfection, making a lot of useful suggestions. The evening went really... More

My partner, Hazel and I were invited by our good friend Bridgit to her birthday celebration at The Old Hall Inn last Saturday. The room was very comfortable with a lovely view towards the Peak District hills. The Inn is very oldy worldy and full of charm and history. We dined in the Minstrel's Gallery which was very rustic and... More

Our party of 8 arrived on a very busy evening with no reservation but the staff were kind enough to find us a table. We all enjoyed our delicious meals and the excellent selection of beers. Towards the end of the evening, we ordered a taxi to take us home to New Mills Newtown...but it did not show up. The... More

The food was delicious, the range of high quality beer was extensive, and the staff were super friendly. I can't recommend this place enough. It's a wonderful restaurant. We visited with a party of 8 last night and at 11pm we ordered a couple of taxis from the bar. After 45 minutes the taxis hadn't arrived, so the amazing landlady... More

We have just returned from what was a lovely stay at The Old Hall Inn. Our room was actually situated in the Paper Mill Inn across the road from The Old Hall Inn (owners have both pubs). The stay was excellent with the room, an en suite double having a lovely large and very comfy bed, a nice modern bathroom... More
