We stayed three nights at the Old Hall Inn, and it was a great base from which to do walks all over the Peaks. All the staff were friendly and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable, with a good view to the fells. The Inn strikes the right balance between a pub with a great evening atmosphere and a... More

We had an evening meal at the Old Hall. We were staying in a nearby B&B and booked at the last minute. The owner squeezed us in - and we were so glad he did. The service from all the Staff was really good. The young man who owns the Old Hall was very friendly and accommodating. The food was... More

We stayed overnight here after the St Georges Day meal in the beautiful Old Hall. It was a special birthday for my husband and we were certainly not disappointed by our visit. Our room was attractive and comfortable and all our needs catered for, along with a spacious and clean bathroom. Our window looked out over the gardens and had... More

Just got back from a great stay at the Old Hall Inn. There 6 of us (3 couples in our early 30s) up from London to enjoy the Peaks. It hit all my criteria - nice rooms, great pub, great location for exploring the Peaks. The rooms were all nice and comfortable (only annoyance was that the power showers were... More

I went in Spring and the garden was stunning with impeccably-kept colourful flower beds. Interior was tastefully newly decorated in keeping with the age and feel of this historic building. Friendly cozy pub downstairs and perfect location for walks up Eccles Pike and Cracken Edge. Delicious food. Breakfast felt like eating at a medieval banquet in the 'hall' room. Delightful... More

Thank you for your review, its great to hear you explored the two local hills which are all too often overlooked by visitors to the area. It does mean you get the hills all to yourself!! We hope to see you again soon. Dan More

My husband and I have just spent a 3 night stay to celebrate our ? wedding anniversary and had a fabulous time. Room 1 was spacious and very clean with wonderful views. The restaurant coped very well with my gluten free vegetarian diet and I had plenty of choices for my evening meals. Breakfast was brilliant and my husband loved... More

Unfortunately we could only get a room for one night as two nights would have been the icing on the cake! Food, environment and the range of beers and wines were great and the cooked breakfast was brill. Looking forward to coming back this time for two nights.

2 night midweek stay for business purposes, chosen for location and access to Manchester. Stayed in room 4 which was spacious, quiet with a comfortable bed . All the staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive and the pub interior atmospheric, especially dining in the Minstrel's Gallery restaurant. The food was excellent- interesting and varied menu (famous steak and ale pudding),... More

Surprise weekend away for my husband's 50th, who loves a bit of a beer festival. We had a fab time. Our room (No. 4) was great. Despite Dan's warnings of possible festival noise we both slept very well, possibly due to excess beer and a good sauvignon blanc or two. Great festival food with good service from chef who kept...
