my girlfriend and i love this little inn. its a bit out of the way, not far from bellingham and about 6 miles from keilder water, we went there about 10 times over the year and if you get there before 630pm its £10 for two meals and the beer is reasonably priced. but the icing on the cake for... This is our second stay at the Hollybush and it just gets better. The owner, Mary is exceptionally friendly as are the locals who all make you feel at home. The rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable and would put many a hotel to shame. The views from the back beer garden are lovely and having been in winter now... More

I stayed in the Holly Bush on the evening I proposed to my girlfriend. In advance Mary was exceptionally accommodating (I asked for candles and champagne to be in the room, and just for it to look generally lovely), and we had a really nice evening meal. On returning to the Holly Bush, we were welcomed into the pub next... More

Just perfect in everyway, Mary (the Landlady) was so helpful and lovely. As a female on her own (later joined by my husband) I could not have been made to feel more welcome by everyone. The food was delicious and a delight. It was such a joy being there. The surrounding countryside was breathtaking, staying at the Hollybush Inn was... More

We stayed in a room in the adjoining building which was spacious and quiet. A real friendly atmosphere in the pub during the evening. Great beer. Nice real fire / range. More

This is my first review but feel I need to warn. We went down for breakfast at 830am (info in room stated breakfast served between 830 and 930) on the day we were leaving to find everything locked up and silent. After a short walk we came back to find still no sign of life at 9am and two other... More

I am so sorry you left us feeling dejected as most people leave here more than happy. I would like to point out that there was some confusion regarding the breakfast shifts on the morning in question which is why the chef was late. I was actually ill that weekend and I when I came through to the pub I... More

As part of a group of 4 lads on a 6 day mountain biking holiday in late September 2011 to Kielder, we frequented the The Hollybush on several occasions, on two of the occasions we ate there, The staff were extremely friendly and good humoured. Food ,quantity, price and service was very good, as was the Nell's bitter!. We also... More

This is the friendliest pub in Britain in my opinion! From the moment we arrived we were made welcome by our host Mary, all of the staff and the locals. Everyone was willing to chat and they were genuinly interested in what our day had been like and what plans we had for the next day. Our room was very... More

From arrival until we left we found a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Our room, the Blue Room, was really warm and there was a welcoming log fire downstairs in a lovely old-fashioned range. There was something so comforting about arriving after a long journey and being able to eat one of the best meals I've ever had just downstairs from my... More
