The Twice Brewed Inn is located along a highway with nothing around it except the Visitor Center in One Brewed England. The visitor center is about 300 yards from the inn. GREAT access to the best hiking section of Hadrian's Wall. Dinner is served in the pub and also in a separate dining room w/waiters. All the members of the... More

We chose The Twice Brewed mainly because it fitted in well with a planned walk in the area, rather than on the basis of earlier reviews. We were aiming to be there by lunchtime but became concerned that the kitchen may be closed by the time we arrived. We needn't have worried. It transpires they serve food all day (at... More

We had a fabulous walk along Hadrians wall and went afterwards to the pub for lunch. Big mistake. I had spiced lamb in pitta bread which turned out to be completely tasteless. My wife had a ploughmans which included a heated pork pie which was like concrete filled with mush. £20 wasted. OK for a drink but if you're hungry... More

My friend and I stayed for one night on July 7. It was a terrible experience. We had requested a room away from the road as we had been warned about traffic noise. We were assured by management that the road was quiet. It was not. The amount of noise from traffic whizzing by made for a sleepless night. The... More

This was the only overnight stay available in the area if you didn't want to camp or stay in a hostel. It is very basic but pretty clean. Beds are quite squeaky. Wifi is only available in the bar but didn't work very well at all whilst we were there. Food was good but after walking 10-16 miles a day... More

Popped in here as we were in a rush, and its unfortunately a little off the beated track with few other choices close by. We did not stay. This place should do well as its right next to Hadrians Wall and has great potential, but let down I think by a lacklustre attitude. We wanted a quick sandwich, and that... More

Had a meal and a drink here on conclusion of a section of Hadrian's Wall. The meal was ok pub food at a reasonable price but the beer was not the best kept. There were a lot of staff standing round and not doing very much apart from chatting to each other.

We knew this was a walkers pub when we booked, but the place is tired and in need of a facelift. The decoration is old and tired, the room we had (17) was freshly decorated, but very small. The furniture was very cheap MFI stufff - none of which functioned - drawers didn't open, wardrobe was in danger of falling... More

We stopped here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The pub was full, so we went back to the "Beer Garden." We immediately noted the many cigarette butts on the ground, aloong with food wrappers; it looked like a college fraternity backyard. We ordered a hamburger, a hummus sandwich, and lamb stew (me). The first two items were satisfactory to... More
