We stayed here after a 14 mile walk along Hadrian's Wall, and were impressed by the service and friendliness of the staff in particular. The food was basic but good, and we enjoyed a pleasant evening in the pub. Given that the owners could virtually charge any amount for the stay (it is probably the only hotel for miles around),... We were spending 3 nights in a National Trust holiday cottage a few minutes from the Twice Brewed Inn/ pub and made 3 visits - twice for drinks and once for a meal. On all 3 occasions we were very pleased with the friendly reception, cosy atmosphere and reasonable prices. Our meal was excellent. We both had the steak pie,... More

Was confused at some reviews in regards to what expect for pricing and type of food. When we visited (late afternoon) it was a large range of drinks (world beers, good bitters) and food was very reasonably priced good English food. Partner had burger (with cheese and bacon) and chips and I had steak pie with peas and chips. We... More

Called in at the Twice Brewed Inn today after a bracing 5 hour walk in Hadrians Wall Country. A welcoming open fire, friendly service, great pot of tea and a very good bacon and mushroom sandwich - a rather pleasant end to a good day.

We visited between Christmas & New Year 2014 having walked from the car park at Once Brewed to Housesteads and back. Although the weather was brilliant we were still chilly & glad of a warm welcoming fire. We ordered sausage & mash which was exactly what we needed. It was very tasty, though we did have to wait. We were... More

I stayed here while walking Hadrian's Wall, a physically challenging endeavour which leaves one wanting a hot shower, a good pint, a hearty dinner, a comfortable bed and a good breakfast in advance of the next day's efforts. The Twice Brewed Inn delivered on all fronts. The staff were friendly, the food was fantastic and the location, close to the... More

Staying at nearby Vallum Lodge (excellent by the way) on our Hadrian's Wall walk, the 'Twice Brewed Inn' was pretty much our only option for food and drink in the evening. The pub is one of those long coaching house style buildings that sits parallel to the main road. Our first pint was pretty decent, but the second (a local... More

Me and some friends went for a walk along Hadrians wall, which was a bit tiring. We decided to go for a pint after as a reward for the calories burned. We found this pub along our drive back to our lodge. We found the service polite and happy and the decor relaxing. It was also good to see a... More

After visiting housesteads roman fort on hadrian's wall we asked local advice on where to go for lunch. We are happy that we followed this advice - twice brewed is a classic. Sunday roast for lunch with the twice brewed bitter - very Nice. The rest if our group enjoyed the chicken burger, beef roll. Good!
