We arrived after a long day of walking the Wall. We had the best room in the inn, worth paying a little extra to have the only room with a bath, the bed was very comfortable, we slept well, also this room is at the back of the inn away from the road. Food and service was excellent, friendly staff.

The welcome here when you come off the moors or Hadrians wall is warm and the beer and food are good. We chose a room which was not ensuite for £60 and whilst the general standard of the room was good, the shower and toilet facilities were not. Showers that wouldn't work, doors that wouldn't lock, toilets that wouldn't flush.... More

Recently spent two nights and although the food and beer was great and the staff were very helpful, the room was not so good. We booked a premium room but the 'view' to the rear of the inn was ruined by a massively overgrown leylandii which obstructed nearly the full height of the window. There was also a loose toilet... We walked west along Hadrian's Wall from Housesteads Fort. The westerly wind is bitter and constant, so wrap up. The views are amazing and there is a real sense of history here. Some three miles from the fort we were in dire need of a watering hole and headed towards a large white-fronted building off to the left (the only... More

The owner and all the staff were perfect, you'd be hard pushed to find friendlier people in hospitality. The food, both dinner and breakfast were also excellent. The Inn itself though is in a desparate need of modernisation. My mattress and pillow should have been retired a long time along. The walls were thin and I heard all the noise... More

This is a very busy inn that was full of walkers, cyclists and other tourists from all over. We had good food in the bar for dinner and the rooms were clean. However our double bed was made up of two single matresses which was not as comfy as we would wish. I would stay again as long as we... More

The rooms were clean and comfy. Rooms at the back are quieter, but beware Room 3 which has a Leylandi completely obscuring the view. Rooms 1 and 2 overlook the beer garden and 4 overlooks piles of empty kegs. It was a pity that there weren't picnic tables in the extensive garden - the weather was lovely but the cramped... More

The Twice Brewed Inn is located along a highway with nothing around it except the Visitor Center in One Brewed England. The visitor center is about 300 yards from the inn. GREAT access to the best hiking section of Hadrian's Wall. Dinner is served in the pub and also in a separate dining room w/waiters. All the members of the... More

We chose The Twice Brewed mainly because it fitted in well with a planned walk in the area, rather than on the basis of earlier reviews. We were aiming to be there by lunchtime but became concerned that the kitchen may be closed by the time we arrived. We needn't have worried. It transpires they serve food all day (at... More

We had a fabulous walk along Hadrians wall and went afterwards to the pub for lunch. Big mistake. I had spiced lamb in pitta bread which turned out to be completely tasteless. My wife had a ploughmans which included a heated pork pie which was like concrete filled with mush. £20 wasted. OK for a drink but if you're hungry... More
