I was recently asked to provide the transport for competitors and spectators for the Kielder Marathon, part of this required me to stay in Kielder to manage the event! I have always used Leaplish waterside park in the past and when I was told they were full I was quite disappointed! I settled for the Kielder Campsite! Upon arrival we... More

We came up to Kielder forest with the other members of the Jeepey Club (for American Jeeps), to do the safari off roading day, proceeds go to the local moutain rescue team etc. Steve the manager at the site was very obliging as we were a group of 8 with a mixture of tents and caravan and he did allow... Stayed for two nights with friends. The site is lovely and quiet, lovely location and friendly warden. When we arrived we had a choice of pitches but it soon filled up by evening. The only thing that let's it down is the shower block could do with a revamp, (Ihave seen a lot worse) but it didn't spoil out stay... More

We have been coming to this campsite on and off for about 20 years. Not changed much over the years. area wonderful lots to do. Good mountain biking and walking. Steve the warden very friendly and helpful. Hot clean showers. Clean and tidy site. No pitch numbers Steve even had and area picked out for us. Not for groups a... More

Brilliant campsite - weather dreadful. Lovely campsite, warm welcome and good facilities. with the pub close by and the castle a couple of minutes walk - there are plenty of offsite facilities too. Plenty of room for families and dogs - walks along the river and through the woods adjacent. Lovely - just be sure to check for thunderstorms.

This is a great place to stay, it's not commercial but still has everything you'll need and Steve the site warden is always happy to help. There are great woodland and riverside walks into Kielder village and beyond and some excellent cycle routes (with plenty of fells for the fit to explore). My partner and I stayed in one of... More

3rd time stopping at the campsite. Well serviced facilties. At the heart of kielder with so much to do. Site warden Steve is great. He has a wealth of knowledge about the local area. Campsite shop and also a local village store have plenty of stock but remember that its not a superstore.

Great escape from the concrete jungle. Steve the onsite warden gave a very warm welcoming as we arrived and let us know about the new midgy killers he has just installed. Plenty to do with 3 active children and 2 dogs. The walk along to the stone maze and along the river bank is a must. And its not too... More

We stayed for three night and loved it (Aug 10 - 13). Due to the inclement weather, we were restricted in exploring the area and were unable to watch the 'stars at night' or find the red squirrels etc, but shall be back in order to do so. The site is NOT commercial. It's just BEAUTIFUL. The 'services' are clean,... More

Just back from 2 night stay, well we cut the last nights stay out due to heavy rain and bailed out at 6pm to head home. The site is in a good spot and close to a pub, which does food and takeaway food, also close to kielder castle which has a cafe. Good spot for walks with the dog and... More
