We agree that Carraw House is a perfect base for exploring Hadrian’s Wall, with the added fun of being right there on the wall line, with the Vallum still running through the property. Our rooms were comfortable and well furnished, and the view south was a pleasure to wake up to in the morning. Breakfasts were very good, especially the... More

We spent two nights here on our way up to Lindisfarne. Carraw is on the old Roman military road right next to Hadrian's Wall and near all of the main sites. The owners were extremely hospitable and friendly, full of useful advice. Our rooms were luxuriously comfortable and attractive with everything we needed. There was a range of teas, coffee... More

Everything about this B&B merits praise. From the warm welcome, to the super comfortable rooms and bathrooms, to the gourmet breakfasts - not to mention the stunning views. Only wish we could have stayed longer.

We are four seniors who are close friends and have traveled to many wonderful destinations together, both pre and post our senior designation. The Carrow B&B is located just across the road from the expansive Hadrian’s Wall and just a few miles down the road from the Visitor’s Center for Hadrian’s Wall. Although the couple of Leah and Kevin are... More

Myself, my partner and another couple stayed at Carraw for 2 nights as we had a wedding to attend nearby. We had a lovely warm welcome from the hosts & they were very helpful when we got lost en route! Rooms were both extremely comfortable, clean & very well thought out.. Even down to the home made biscuits & rugs... More

We arrived around 5 pm to a warm greeting from Leah. After signing in we toured the house. Leah answered questions we had concerning Hadrians Wall, and explained there were books and movies about the wall we could borrow as well. Our room was spacious and very clean, with a FABULOUS view, great quality bed (which helps after a long... More

A beautiful place with stunning views however it is right by the side of the Military Road with cars hurtling past in excess of 60mph. We were cycling the c2c Hadrians Wall route and went off route to experience this luxury B&B, however, the fast road alone made this an unwise choice. The promised ploughman's supper was only available at... More

My wife & I stayed @ Carraw & the accommodation was first class. Our room was very comfortable including the en-suite with use of free bath robes. We were walking Hadrian's Wall Path for charity, on arrival Kevin, Leah and Lilly made us feel so welcome that we almost forgot that we were exhausted from a full days walking in searing heat and with very sore feet. I think our room was called Vindolanda and my friend and I were absolutely in awe of the room with... More

We stayed at Carraw B&B on our way to Oban. Leah and Kevin (and Lilly) were very pleasant hosts and we were shown to a lovely, if somewhat small room. The view was fantastic. It's feels so remote yet it's not really. We had no difficulty in finding the house - it's on a main road between Carlisle and Newcastle.... More
