Stayed here with my 14-year-old son for three days in October 2011. A beautiful cottage only 10 mins drive from Hexham and 5 mins from a couple of good pubs. The owner - Joan - was extremely welcoming and friendly, rustling up tea and biscuits as soon as we arrived. Everything about Peth Head Cottage is first class, from the... More

We stayed here for one night in July 2011 en route to Scotland. Very quiet setting (which is exactly what we wanted) yet only a 10 minute drive to pubs, shops etc. Lovely walks from the door. Fantastic welcome with lovely tea and biscuits. Room very nice and breakfast (with home made bread and preserves) fabulous. Great way to break... More

I stayed here with my husband for three days at the end of August. We found the B& B to be in a wonderful setting which was ideal for a restful few days which we needed. The bedroom was lovely with a bed big enough to sleep a family in! Every minor detail was thought about, and the pots of... More

I cannot speak highly enough of Peth Head Cottage. It is situated in an ideal location, about a 10 minute drive from Hexham. Our host, Joan, was absolutely lovely and so friendly and welcoming. The tea she made us on arrival was most thoughtful and I would return just for the homemade biscuits she also gave us! She really did... More

Just had an over night stay but it was excellent. The room was lovely and spotlessly clean with lots of personal touches wich make such a difference. Joan is a perfect host and produces home made shortcakes, bread and jam to die for. I would not hesitate to stay again and would highly recommend it. More

Pleasant location.Very good hosts. Most helpful, and considerate.Excellent food. The gigantic, comfortable, beds, not to mention the psychedelic bathroom suite, have to be seen to be believed. Finally, the fair pricing structure for the sole guest, has to receive a mention. No single supplement here! More

I stayed here with my nephew for two nights (unfortunately not longer). It's a nice stone cottage with stylishly decorated rooms and a breakfast room which is also the lounge. The owners were very friendly and helpful and provided us with plenty of information. Breakfast is ample and is served between 7 and 9, so you don't have to get... More

I rang ahead to say we would be a little late checking in. We were greated right royally and out luggage transported to our comfortable room. We were invited for tea and fresh made biscuits. There was a small comfortable guest lounge if you didn't want to stay in your room. The owners were full of local information and nothing... More

A friend and I took the two double rooms as singles. No single room supplement!!! We were met with warm welcomes from the whole family, and served with a refreshing pot of tea (yes, with the china tea set) and home-made shortbread, in a delightful guest's lounge area overlooking the lovely garden. This is a real country cottage environment, with... More

Well what can I say.... from my initial contact with Joan Liddle, nothing was too much trouble. We were greeted by a lovely fresh cup of tea (served in bone china Spode cups and saucers) and a plate of home made biscuits. And this greeting was repeated every time we returned to the cottage after our various jaunts into the... More
