This was our last bunkhouse on the walk. Mrs 'Greencarts' was very kind and helpful, showing us the bunk barn and providing us with fresh milk (Free)! and telling us if we needed anything just to come to the farm house. The barn was basic but had a fridge, kettle, tea bags, etc. There were pillows and bedding available (Free!)... More

Arrived to find bunk barn not secure couldn't lock it when we went out and someone had been it to charge their phone. When booking was told could get lift to village to pub for food but no one could do this cost us £22 to get there. Worst place we stayed on our walk.

Booked the bunkhouse last minute due to wimping out of camping in the village. Sandra couldn't have been more helpful or nicer. We arrived quite late and very exhausted after walking the Heddon - Chollerford section of Hadrian's wall. Sandra welcomed us in, showed us around and offered to drop us to the local pub if we wanted to eat... More

Pre booked this the night before and was pleased to say the least when it came into sight after a long day of walking. The bunkhouse barn was basic but comfortable, it had all you needed for a nights rest and the owner was very hospitable and makes a good cooked breakfast. The barn slept 12+ people.

The bunkhouse is well equipped and the owner Sandra could not have been more helpful. She offered to drive us to the pub for food but we took her recommendation of an Indian takeaway which delivered. As we wanted to leave early the next morning, Sandra provided us with the breakfast ingredients so we could prepare it ourselves.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2015

It was a windy day in June. This made it feel quite cool. Camping field has sheltered parts so we pitched close to a low wall. The field is slightly sloping, uphill to the toilets and showers. The toilets have sensors to turn the lights on as you enter but the heating wasn't on. OK for toilet duties but we... More

If you're camping, bunking or B&B-ing, then this place offers it all. I came with my tent and simply turned up on the day with no problem. There are two huge fields which can also accommodate camper vans. There's a shower block as well. Access to Hadrian's Wall is fantastic. Just take the path from the back of the farm... More

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2015

Sandra was very welcoming and drove me to and from the pub. The bunkhouse is a bit tired and in need of a good bottoming out type of clean but my bedding and towel were clean. The shower in the bunkhouse was getting fixed so I had to go in the campers' showers which were also not as clean as... More

Myself and 11 other teens (16-18 years) stayed at greencarts farm from the 23rd-25th of January. We decided to stay here for a short break away! We stayed in the bunkhouse which provides 2 bunkbeds in each room. There is also a spare bed under 1 bunkbed in each room and a single bed in the kitchen. The bunkhouse was... More

I've walked Hadrian's Wall three times and stayed here all three times. It is a very nice place and Sandra could not be a better hostess. She has gone well out of her way to make guests comfortable. While it may be a bit more off the Wall than other places it is not too far and well worth the... More
