Myself and six friends attended a Hexham race meeting and decided to stay over. Very comfortable rooms and superbly generous breakfast. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Would stay there again. Good value for money.

We couldn't have wished for anything better, beautiful room, very comfy bed, excellent cooked breakfast in the morning. Loved the little extra touches like fresh flowers in the room and tasty flapjacks left for you to help yourself to through out the day. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The private parking for this accommodation is an added bonus,... More

A unique and very special guest house in the centre of Hexham, with its own off-road parking.. Jackie is a wonderful host. She clearly has very high standards in terms of food and accommodation. The bed linen is of a superior standard, and the breakfast she served kept us going for a whole day walking on and around Hadrian's Wall.... More

Myself and my boyfriend / parents stayed here for 1 night before I ran the Great North Run. The rooms were lovely, big and comfy with nice bathrooms and huge cosy beds. I got a great nights sleep. Free WiFi and a peaceful quiet location. The highlight of our stay was breakfast which Jackie ever so kindly put on very... More

On the Skedaddle cycling Coast To Coast ride with a friend. Jacki looked after us well and a superb breakfast set us up for the day. We joked about the typo on the flyer that advertised free 'Wife' ... (should have been WIFI).

A friendly host and a well equipped, comfortable room.Perfect location, literally just a minute or so from the Abbey. A superb breakfast, one of the few we had on our trip which had fresh fruits in additional to the usual cereal and cooked food. There was a bit of footstep noise from the rooms upstairs but hardly noticeable (if this... More

Under new ownership everything a guest house should have, including bottled water and sweets in the room! Fabulous breakfast with fresh fruit and a selection of interesting food. Comfortable if a little in need of TLC ( which added to the charm) but explained that the new owner would be taking care of that in the future. Great location and... More

We stayed at Hallbank while attending a wedding nearby. Cons - I appreciate it is well located but £150 seems very high - toilet was dirty, carpets stained - no bottled water in the room - bathroom was basic and looked a little grubby - sockets were hidden behind a dresser which were hard to access - the lamp on... We recently had a 2 day stay at Hallbank Guest House. The accommodation was excellent they had the magic Cleanliness and Friendliness and the quality of the breakfast was far superior than I have been used to at 4* Hotels. I really would recommend staying at Hallbank if your are visiting the Newcastle area as the journey into the city... More
