This was a single night stop on a 'tour' of north England and the Scottish Borders. It was a delight to sleep in a building with character oozing out of the stone walls. Rooms were well appointed and comfortable. Unfortunately I missed on the cooked breakfast as I had to leave early to arrange for our car to be repaired,... More

We stayed at the Rye Hill Farm and thought it was great. The building and grounds are very historic , but the rooms have been modernized so you get the feeling of staying in a very old place, but enjoying modern conveniences. The hostess is very knowledgeable and helpful if you want some suggestions about what to do such as... More

What a lovely review, thank you. The buildings here date back some 300 years or so and built in the local stone from Ladycross Quarry, just up the road, that is still in production today! More

We recently stayed in the self catering cottage where we hosted a family birthday party. The cottage was easily large enough to host us all ... 7 people with everything we could possibly have needed. Rye hill Farm is a working farm, it's not the place for you if you want boutique style luxury. There's no worries about muddy boots... More

Stayed here with family for the weekend so that we could meet up with more family who live nearby to celebrate my son's 18th birthday. Elizabeth was extremely helpful in sorting out our three rooms and was the perfect host throughout. She has an abundance of energy, skills (pulling a campervan off the field with the tractor was a sight... More

It was fun having you all to stay in the B&B for your sons birthday. Dragging camper vans off the wet camp site is not my favorite job, some say that the more I do it the better I will get at it! Fortunately the weather has been wonderful recently so no opportunity to better my vans pulling skills. More

Sadly, we only stayed here for one night, but were made to feel very welcome by Elizabeth, who is a lovely lady with a good sense of humour and who tells a good tale ! The rooms were very comfortable, quiet at night so we both had a good nights sleep in cozy beds. The surrounding area is beautiful but... More

Could not fault the room or breakfast. The only thing that let our stay down was the abrupt way the owner talks to you both on the telephone and when talking in person. Needs to learn good management skills.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and I must apologies if you thought I was abrupt with you, nothing could be more from my mind. I am glad you thought the room and breakfast were up to standard. More

What a lovely stay we had at the farm. My kids, 8 and 9, had a great time. They loved helping to feed the orphaned lambs. We had a lovely comfy room which was extremely clean. Great breakfast. We will definitely be back next year.

Thank you for your review. I so enjoyed having the children helping to feed the pet lambs. The lambs are now much more boisterous so feeding all 8 is quite a job! More

My girlfriend took me there for my birthday in March. The room was lovely as was the lady who ran the farm. We seen some lambs being born, and the whole day was great. We ate at The Travellers Rest just across the road and had a lovely meal. We were the only people at the farm the night we... More

Just had a great time at Rye Hill Farm. Would recommend to anyone either wanting to view Northumberland or as we did attend a wedding at Slaley Hall. We were made welcome from the onset which made it so much easier. Room was very comfortable, best nights sleep we have ever had staying away from home. Even the sheep and... More

We stayed for one night at the bed and breakfast. It's set in the beautiful countryside. The owner was welcoming and friendly with a good sense of humour. The rooms were perfect for what we needed and we were able to fit our dog crate in comfortably. Very clean and well equipped. Comfortable, snugly bed. Fab to look out the... More

Thank you for your kind review. I trust that you and your well trained puppy had a good day looking around the area. The farm cats you saw are our 2 new farm cats so are still a bit nervous of the chicken but strangely they seem very confident with our 2 dogs! More
