Spent a lovely few days here. We were made to feel very welcome, even our Labrador Ben, as the B and B is dog friendly. The place was scrupiosly clean with welcome tea and biscuits, lots of towels and complimentary toiletries. The cooked breakfast was made to order, with home grown tomatoes and eggs, and delicious sausages. Cereals, yoghurt, and... More

It was a pleasure having you and you dog to stay with us and I am so glad that the weather was nice. Northumberland in the autumn can be a great place to visit. More

Really excellent--only stayed two nights and wished we had booked more. Mrs Courage very friendly and "down to earth" and she runs the whole place on her own including running a flock of 80 ewes. Northumberland is so unspoilt-I last visited a good 30 years ago and it hasn't changed. Couldn't believe how quiet the roads are still. Ate at... More

Just had a four day break at Rye Hill Farm. It was excellent. The location gave easy access to the North Pennines, the river Tyne valley, Northumberland and Newcastle. From the very start Elizabeth Courage makes you feel that you are not just a guest but a visiting friend. She is full of ideas for days out. The breakfast sets... More

We enjoyed 3 nights here. We stayed in the self catering accommodation and it was perfect with everything we need. Thr location is great, lovely views and in nice countryside. It is also close to lots of places. The owner always looks busy and leaves you to it but will give you advice and help when needed.

This was a single night stop on a 'tour' of north England and the Scottish Borders. It was a delight to sleep in a building with character oozing out of the stone walls. Rooms were well appointed and comfortable. Unfortunately I missed on the cooked breakfast as I had to leave early to arrange for our car to be repaired,... More

We stayed at the Rye Hill Farm and thought it was great. The building and grounds are very historic , but the rooms have been modernized so you get the feeling of staying in a very old place, but enjoying modern conveniences. The hostess is very knowledgeable and helpful if you want some suggestions about what to do such as... More

What a lovely review, thank you. The buildings here date back some 300 years or so and built in the local stone from Ladycross Quarry, just up the road, that is still in production today! More

We recently stayed in the self catering cottage where we hosted a family birthday party. The cottage was easily large enough to host us all ... 7 people with everything we could possibly have needed. Rye hill Farm is a working farm, it's not the place for you if you want boutique style luxury. There's no worries about muddy boots... More

Stayed here with family for the weekend so that we could meet up with more family who live nearby to celebrate my son's 18th birthday. Elizabeth was extremely helpful in sorting out our three rooms and was the perfect host throughout. She has an abundance of energy, skills (pulling a campervan off the field with the tractor was a sight... More

It was fun having you all to stay in the B&B for your sons birthday. Dragging camper vans off the wet camp site is not my favorite job, some say that the more I do it the better I will get at it! Fortunately the weather has been wonderful recently so no opportunity to better my vans pulling skills. More

Sadly, we only stayed here for one night, but were made to feel very welcome by Elizabeth, who is a lovely lady with a good sense of humour and who tells a good tale ! The rooms were very comfortable, quiet at night so we both had a good nights sleep in cozy beds. The surrounding area is beautiful but... More
