Staff are welcoming and friendly. Our bedroom was not large but quite adequate for a two night stay. Large modern bathroom with nice towels and a good range of toiletries. We found all aspects of our stay excellent. The room was very well furnished. The water was always piping hot. The service from all of the staff was very friendly and acommodating. The food and wine were extremely enjoyable. We were very impressed with the commitment and ingenuity of the owners to make Battlesteads carbon neutral. more

We shared a family room with our 2 daughters (5 & 7) and they have told everyone about the curtained bunk bed! The hotel was comfortable and welcoming; the staff helpful and the food as wonderful as reported. The atmosphere in the bar was very relaxed an lots of useful information on hand. more

Difficult to find, but the Inn itself is charming. The owners are very kind and helpful, the food and restaurant are great and it is very near all the best sites along Hadrian's Wall. more
