I stayed here for 2 nights but I will not be going back as it is not very clean. Booking in was difficult enough as I had to go looking for someone to book me in. When I got to my room there was no coffee or a teaspoon, again I had to play hunt the staff to get items.... more
This place wasn't the greatest, but it was ok for a one night stop-over while exploring Hadrian's Wall. THe rooms were shabby and need some decor upgrades. I had already booked two nights here before reading the review written last year by a Tripadvisor. I won't make that mistake again and will check the reviews on this site first. Whilst visiting Hadrian's Wall, which I would recommend, we stayed in Hexham. Having looked at The Royal hotel website, we booked for 2 nights.
