After a long car journey it is wondeful to find a home from home. Mike and Angie are the perfect host and hostess. The rooms are comfortable and you are given plenty of choices for breakfast. If you are visiting Northumberland, you will find no better place for an overnight stay (or maybe two).

We stayed at Strand Cottage from Sept 9 to 16 .Breakfast was first class and caters for all tastes with a wide range of diets.Clean towels provided daily and plenty of hot water to freshen up to go out in the evening.Sheets were changed regularly.Angela and Mike are first class hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them.

We stayed at Strand Cottage during our week long walk of Hadrian's Wall. We were advised by our hosts to have dinner before our arrival and get a taxi to the Strand, which was good advice. The accommodation was very good and spacious, and our hosts friendly, and we were sent off the next day following a hearty breakfast.

Really excellent accommodation with very informative and brilliant hosts. Breakfasts were delicious and freshly cooked. We found it ideally sited for our too short break. Would highly recommend this for anyone seeking value for money. A really great weekend and would return tomorrow. Dave and Haze.

I stayed here for three nights while walking Hadrian's Wall and visiting local Roman forts/museums. We are afraid to say that the welcome was very unfriendly at Strand Cottage. There is a noisy main road right in front of the B&B. The bedroom was just acceptable but we decided to leave Strand Cottage without staying the two nights booked. We later discovered that the owner had already FULLY charged our Credit Card for 2 nights... More
