We booked to stay here for my Mother In Law's 80th Birthday. I booked three rooms for other family members. When we got to Slaley Hall (which was very early, about 12 noon) we asked if when my mother in law arrived we could have her room ready for her as she was elderly and we didn't want her waiting... more

This is a beautiful hotel in a fabulous location right in the middle of the Northumbrian countryside. Two lovely golf courses and fabulous spa. more

The previous review basically hits the spot in a nutshell. We had Gift Vouchers for Slaley Hall and visited their Claret Jug Restaurant recently. We arrived twenty minutes before our booking and informed the barman of this and would have a glass of wine whilst waiting. He said someone would come for us when our table was ready. However, we... more

The hotel looks beautiful, is in lovely grounds, but the service is appalling and unfortunately that will be my lasting memory of it. The staff basically looked like they couldn't be bothered. It's not a cheap place so I was expecting a higher standard of service, but found rude staff in the spa, at reception, in the restaurants and my... more

As soon we arrived at Slaley the drive up to the hotel made an impression! The long drive way throught the golf courses set the scene. Entrance hall, reception staff and porters all very attentive. Even the porter offered to park our car for us. Room was of good standard - bathroom small but clean and modern. Evening meal in... more

We stayed here because a friend held her wedding reception here. We managed to get an excellent deal on the internet - which was actually cheaper than the "special wedding rate" that the friends had secured for guests. In the week before our arrival, we'd received a courtesy phone call from Slaley Hall, asking whether we wanted to book a... more

For a hotel that has won awards and provides first-class accommodation, it was let down very badly by its staff and service in the restaurant. Lengthy queues for breakfast with staff doing nothing to clear vacant tables. Receptionists continuing their conversations with each other while giving check-out summed up the poor approach to customer service. more

I travelled as part of a group of 6 golfers, we had booked via a golf travel company for a 'Dinner,Bed & Breakfast & Golf' deal. We had arranged to check in one hour early due to the golf times, however on arriving at the hotel we were told that while we could check in, there was no guarantee that... more

My partner and I visited Slaley Hall for three nights over the Easter Break and we have nothing but praise for the hotel and its staff. Our room (209), had evidently just been refurbished and was very clean, other rooms in the hotel were still waiting to be updated. All the staff were very helpfull and efficient. The bar area... more

Setting for hotel is beautiful. didnt arrive until 3.30pm so room was ready (rm 332). Wasnt one of the re-furbished ones but was clean, airey and spacious. Had a free... more
