I arrived early after a 19 mile walk to get there to find the staff and locals most welcoming. The room was clean and tidy, and plentiful hot water for the en-suite bath which is a luxury during a long distance walk. Sadly there were two things that let this otherwise great pub down for me. The food menu is... More

This was a comfortable, pleasant stay. The owner managers went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable and looked after despite our extremely early check out time. Their catered to our quirky requests for dessert at odd hours at night. Yes it may be quite a drive from Newcastle and yes you do have to share a... More

We really enjoyed our short break over August Bank holiday in Northumberland. We stayed at the the Sun Inn for 3 nights. Very comfortable, friendly and relaxing accommodation. Good size, clean rooms, and friendly towards dogs. Conveniently situated for Hexham, Hadrian's Wall and for North Pennine attractions. Super full English breakfast. Thank you for a really nice visit. We would... More

I received a very friendly welcome and was pleasantly surprised by my room which was very comfortable. The bed and breakfast price was very reasonable and included a wholesome English breakfast. Despite the window being open to the main street, I heard nothing all night. The only downside is the range of evening meals available, though quite cheap. However there... More

on arriving I thought this looks quaint, the corridor and room looked clean but decor was very tired, unfortunately a previous occupier had been smoking and the room stank of it. There were drums playing in the distance until the middle of the night so that didn't help sleep. Breakfast was adequate but only just. I can't comment on whether... More

We came here for a family meal in the evening, very accommodating for the numbers we turned up with and the food was delicious with decent sized portions. Lovely ale on tap also. Landlord and landlady are doing a great job by all accounts also. Highly recommended!

Having lived in the village for a little while the pub was ok. Claire and Malcolm have come in and are doing a great job. They've added food and we sampled this on Friday it was lovely and worth a visit if you're in the Hexham/Acomb area. They are friendly and have made s great start to the pub.

Quit expensive for what You get. Small rooms, dirty pub below. If You take à shower than THE other guests need to wait each time ONE hour to have warm water again. IT is à very old place. I would not. recommand this place at THE rate we have paid.

The hotel staff were fantastic and the breakfast was brilliant. The hotel itself was shabby and the carpets were all stained. Our room was in the front and above the bar, the people that were smokers were outside under our window
