We walked to Gibbs from Hadrians wall without realising Val, the charming owner, offers a free lift for the two mile hike. This very generous offer was taken up by us on our onward journey saving us plenty of time and fatigue. The accommodation could not be faulted and with a superb breakfast, this is an excellent place to stay.

This farm house was one of our overnight stays on Hadrians Wall Path. We stopped at Twice Brewed Inn and then we were picked up by one of the owners after our evening meal. We were taken to a charming farm house in the middle of fields. Sheep, cats and other animals habitate the surroundings and gives the farm a... More

I stayed here whilst walking Hadrians Wall. The owner is very helpful, picked me up from the pub after I had finished the walk then drove me back to the walk the following morning. The views from the B&B are fabulous, but the accommodation is basic. The tea and coffee was basic tea bags, sachets of coffee and one small... More

The farm is very remote, but Val does a great job of ferrying everyone to and from Hadrian's wall path and the pub . The accommodation is simple, but clean. We were asked to be sparing with the hot water as there were 6 of us. This was disappointing as 2 of the group were looking forward to a good... More

The owner picked me up from the pub which is about a mile away from the farm, also got dropped back onto the Hadrian's Wall Path in the morning which is a great service. Val is very welcoming and friendly. Room was comfortable and very clean. Well recommended.

Val picked us up from Steel Rigg car park, although this involved a hike up the hill from 'Twice Brewed' car park as the farmhouse B&B is quite remote. The bedroom was clean and functional, although a little tired, and unfortunately the shower attachment above the bath wasn't working. However, Val kindly took us to and from 'Twice Brewed' later... We were walking the wall and found this B and B met the bill as far as we were concerned. Mrs Gibson has been running the ship for many years and provides a homely place to rest. We were picked up from Steel Rigg car park, and delivered back there the next morning. She also drove us to the pub... More

A lovely quiet setting just north of Hadrian's wall with hundreds of swallows flying around. The ambience was great, the welcome by Val the owner was warm and friendly, the breakfast was good and the company of other walkers was most enjoyable. The bed was very comfortable being of the memory foam mattress. The plumbing was disappointing as there was... More

Val went to a lot of trouble to come and find us after we had phoned from Vindoland and it was as well she did as the farm is a distance from Hadrian's Wall. Once there she offered us a beer and gave us a chance to change before we were taken to the "neighbours" where we had an excellent... More

We stayed one night B&B doing the Hadrian’s Wall walk. It is not ideally situated, as it is over 1 mile from the walk trail, adding to the journey (mostly downhill there, mostly uphill back). It is a strange mix. The room was absolutely beautiful, large and well furnished, a bathroom as big as a small bedroom – felt like... More
