Thinking of stepping back in time? Then this village could be the place for you. Quiet, friendly and quaint (there is no pub) the tearoom and B & B (run by Anne) is a great find. Very picturesque, sublimely quiet (promotes rest). Its a delight. Rooms are large and classic. You are guaranteed a good night's sleep and hearty breakfast.... More

Came across this very pleasant tea room whilst out for a drive and looking for somewhere to eat. As soon as we entered we were greeted by two lovely young friendly female staff who escorted us to our table. Our order, obviously partly consisting of the famous freshly made scones (made by Ann, the owner), was soon delivered with our... More

I came across this B&B when searching for somewhere to stay near Hexham. A lot of other option had been more expensive. I opted for Simonburn B&B, £60 for a twin room for one night. We arrived about 7pm to a warm welcome, we were shown our room up the steep steps leading upstairs (a family room). It was spacious,... More

Charming place. Dexter the terrier is a star! Found purely by chance when we needed an afternoon snack on our jaunt around Hadrian's Wall. The lovely weather helped but the welcome was great and our host had just completed a new range of cupcakes, which she offered us as a free treat after the meal. Delicious! If the baking is... More

We visited the tea room last Tuesday on our way back from Vindolanda and was really looking forward to a proper afternoon tea, but what a disappointment. We were offered no menu but was verbally told of 4 or 5 cakes on offer. We (4 adults) opted for 3 scones and 1 carrot cake. The carrot cake was delicious but... More

We stop here every time we travel up to Kielder. The welcome has never changed Dexter the dog ensures you are welcome and then parkhimself at the table waitingfor scraps. The smell of fresh baked scones, of coffee, home made jams greet you as you stroll in the gate. Then you have the setting what a joy - lovely garden... More

We visited this lovely tearoom whilst camping in the nearby village of Bellingham. What a hidden gem and definitely worth a visit. The cream scone was delicious, the homemade lemonade was cold and refreshing and the coffee was excellent. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. My daughter adored Dexter the westie. We will definitely be returning soon.

My grandparents stayed here when they were visiting, and they said it was lovely! I myself have not stayed but from what I have gathered, it was a nice stay. I have been to the cafe though and it is lovely. The garden is also lovely. The cakes a delicious and the scones are also! Will be returning!

Have passed the end of the road leading to Simonburn on many occasions and noticed the Tea Room sign, but always in too much of a rush to get somewhere to investigate further. Well yesterday was different!! Had taken my 8 yr old niece to the Falconry Days owl experience and although we’d had some hearty soup, we just fancied... More

We really enjoyed our stay here, it took a while to get there, but it was worth it in the end. So peaceful and quiet, we were welcomed by Ann, who runs the B&B and she does the tea rooms and the shop, also the little Western Terrier, a homely place. The rooms were beautiful, coinciding with the old building... More
