Travelzoo deal for 1 nights dbb, one nights b&b and free entry into Beamish Museum at a smashing price. Hotel quite quirky......interesting decor....freshly cooked to order breakfasts, pleasant evening meal, spacious rooms with everything you need, great views across the countryside and a cracking location to vist bits of Durham, Cumbria and the south west of Northumberland....not so handy though... more

We have just returned from a 3 night stay in this wonderful hotel. We came across it by receiving an e mail from Travelzoo and it was linked to hotels.com (I think.) It was a special offer price of £65 per night with a free dinner on any of the nights and also included free tickets to Beamish. The hotel... more

We spent a long weekend at the Derwent Manor while visiting friends and family in the area. It was fine as a base: clean, pleasant and comfortable. They had considerately placed us in a room as far away as possible from the functions areas so it was quiet as well. So no complaints as such, but I hope some constructive... more

This was our second stay at The Derwent Manor. 12 of us stayed for one night to celerbrate our xmas party.Everything was well organised most of us had a nice swim before the party and the entertainment was fab; "Spice Unite". We think we get good value for money at this hotel but I do think that at busy times... more

We stayed 1 night on 7.02.09 and would comment that all the staff were very friendly and welcoming .The room was well proportioned ,a little bit worn but very clean .The room decor was 1990s with mock beams on the ceiling and the bath had built in jacuzzi which did not work .A convector heater was supplied to supplement the... more

My partner and I stayed one night in the Derwent Manor hotel. On arrival we were met with friendly staff, we were given a spacious room with a pleasant view. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help us if we needed anything. The hotel has a cosy bar with a log fire... more

Wedding - where to start, a disdaster from the beginning. I was bridesmaid and I received a message stating that my room for the night of the wedding had been overbooked, so could not stay. Upon arrival the hotel looked lovely, that was until we got inside. My room did not lock nor did the curtains close fully. My room... more

It is very disappointing to read that we did not met your expectations at Derwent Manor. I have discussed your observations with our departmental heads to ensure the necessary corrective action will be taken to ensure there is no re–occurrence of your experiences which are far from our normal standard. Further to your other points, our maintenance team have thoroughly...

Might as well start at the beginning. The hotel driveway is picturesque and the frontage of the hotel looked very nice. We were, however, filled with dread when we noticed that there was a large wedding reception taking place. Reception looks impressive with a suit of armour and big leather chairs. The receptionist was friendly and efficient and checked us... more

Stayed here Sunday to Monday Bank Holiday weekend. The hotel is really nice and a rabbit warren layout in which you could get quite lost...! The view from our room was lovely. The leisure club is a nice touch, just wish it was manned a bit more.. Children were running in and out of the Sauna. My main issue was... more
