My husband and I selected this hotel from a list given by a friend as accommodation for her wedding guests. The hotel is situated on the edge of a housing estate, not a grand entrance! Although it is very close to a busy road, there is relatively little road noise, at least from the room in which we stayed. The... More

I stayed here for a 2 night break to visit family and was disgusted throughout my stay, when we arrived the receptionist was very rude and was busy on her mobile phone, when we got to our room we had to complain and change rooms as the cleanliness was so bad i ran my fingure over the bathroom sink and... Dear Tony, Very, very occasionally I have to respond to a review which I consider to be totally unfair and your review is sadly one. We have the highest cleanliness standards; all our food is sourced from excellent suppliers and is freshly prepared on site every day and we have fans available for residents. We have a 4 star Inn... A real surprise, Really enjoyed my stay. The staff couldn't have done any more to help. The food is superb. The room could have done with some form or cooling, even a fan. I would definitely stay again.

I've just got back from a lovely stay at this hotel. This was for my youngest daughters graduation and we had a superb evening meal in the restaurant. The food was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. I was surprised that the restaurant wasn't packed as the food really is outstanding. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the... Stayed one night, good welcome from staff, room was excellent but very hot during the night. We ate in the restaurant, the food was very good (salmon and hake mains) also the wine at a reasonable price, but we then ordered the cheese board 6 cheeses, a total disaster!! platter looked nice but each cheese was only approx. 3cm by... Dear PJ, Thank you for your feedback and for complementing good food, an excellent room and a warm welcome. We try very hard to deliver excellence in all areas. We stayed for 2 nights, but unfortunately in two different rooms. On arrival we were told our room number was 8. On entering room 8 we were less than happy. Although the room was well equipped and clean, it was dark and very noisy. The window looked right onto the kitchen extractor fans and trunking and we found the noise... More

Dear Janice, Thanks for your review and I am pleased that you were well looked after by the team. The kitchen extract unit is a necessary evil, does drone a bit and can be heard in a few of the rooms. The fans are of course switched off when the kitchen team finish cooking which is normally before 10pm mid-week... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
When my family bought the Hopping Hare in 2006 our aim was to create an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, somewhere just a bit different. A place to dine, stay or meet up and relax with friends, family or colleagues. We didn't want it to be stuffy, intimidating or over the top. We set about creating luxurious rooms, a subtle, sophisticated bar with a great selection of quality drinks and a restaurant offering some of the best food to be found in Northampton. As a family owned and operated business, we set the standards on service, value for money, atmosphere and personality. No detail has been overlooked in creating a hotel, restaurant and bar in Northampton with an individual blend of 21st-century chic, high standards and a laid back friendly feel that we are sure you'll begin to notice as soon as you step inside. We've got to know some of our guests well because they come back time after time. In fact, 2010 saw the completion of an extension to the hotel to meet increased demand for accommodation from a growing clientele. My team and I would love to welcome you to stay for brunch, lunch, dinner or just a drink. Once the Hopping Hare is on your radar we guarantee you'll be back.
