En route to Northampton I finished reading Gyles Brandreths book - The 7 Secrets of Happiness - it should read 8 - because here it is! A stay at Coton Lodge is better than many uber starred hotels. Jo & Peter are great hosts - Jo should come bottled and would be on our 'who would you invite to dinner'... More

Jo and Peter couldn’t have been more pleasant as they described the activities at their sheep farm B&B, known as Coton Lodge. Jo gave us a fascinating introduction to farming and, in particular, the raising and caring of their 450 sheep. Coton Lodge exceeded my expectations! how wonderful is that. If you enjoy peace and tranquility, a beautiful old house, and lovely gardens, all in a rural setting, then THIS is the place for you. This was are second stay at Coton Lodge and it exceed our expectations. Jo and Peter are perfect hosts the lodge itself is beautiful in gorgeous garden and surroundings. Staying at Coton Lodge was a highlight of our recent trip to England. The whole house is lovely and our room was large and comfortable and had a beautiful view. Great amenities: tea, coffee, biscuits and chocolates in the room; toiletries in the bathroom. Unlike many English showers, ours had plenty of power. Coton Lodge inside and out is exquisite! Our room the trellis suite the fine furnishings and antiques high ceilings lovely airy and light. This, without any shadow of doubt, is the best most luxurious B&B we have ever stayed in. A lovely, peaceful rural location sets the scene where a warm welcome awaits you. Driving up the lane through the working farm gives no indication of just what a lovely B&B awaits you. The house is beautiful with lovely proportions and original features, surrounded by gardens, vistas of fields and animals. This has to be the best B and B I stay at. Enjoyed many visits but have not commented up to now as I don't want to lose my opportunity to stay here. Absolutely perfect.
