Second time to visit. Again a very comfortable and enjoyable visit with a good breakfast. Thanks again to Jim and Diana. Single room is small but very functional. Shower unit is a challenge for tall people! An old world property with the attendant gurgles in the pipework, all part of the charm. Chalets at the rear provide quieter accommodation.

I have decided to come here regularly simply because the staff and the new owners are very hospitable, welcoming and the meals are extremely good. Service is excellent. Based in a pleasant village the hotel is an extended 300 year old cottage. All the rooms I have stayed in are comfortable, warm and clean. Showers en suite are clean with... More

.....and we weren't disappointed (again). Jim ,Diana & staff made us welcome (again!) We had a courtyard room, which suits us well-very comfortable. Breakfasts set you up for the whole day!!! We stopped off at the Red Lion (Thornby) on the way down, ate at The Artichoke and Telegraph (both in Moulton), went to Northampton Saints versus Gloucester (Aviva Premiership)... More

We stayed at The Poplars for 5 nights and really enjoyed it. Our room (a standard one) was a good size with space to sit comfortably (ie not just on the bed). Everything was very clean and the room and bathroom provided everything that we needed, including a lovely tray of tea / coffee together with biscuits. Plenty of wardrobe... More

Had a very good night, staff were very pleasant on arrival, we're shown all the details etc, and shown to room no18 found to be clean and very spacious, shower good and hot, made a cup of tea and polished off the cookies, nice after a 3hour drive. Visited friends that night so can't comment on the evening food, got... More

Back again to the area for work and happy to stay here again. Always helpful and efficient. Very comfortable room; cold out side but warm cosy room and bed. Great Breakfast. Love the character of the building and quiet setting.

Jim, Diane & staff looked after us again. Lovely breakfasts, comfy accommodation (in the stable block extension) & very convenient for Moulton (a few restaurants, pubs & shops in walking distance), Pitsford Reservoir, Northampton Rugby (Franklin's Gardens ) & Towcester Races (free entry). We'll be returning!!!

What a delightful little hotel. A refreshing change from the big chains and we'll definitely use these again. If you prefer a more personal experience then a stay here is a must. I rated everything a 5 but the room a 4 as the shower was a bit slow, though that wouldn't put us off staying here again, other than... More

I have stayed here twice on business at Silverstone now and can thoroughly recommend The Poplars. First time I was in a room with en-suite on the front and second time at the rear on the top floor under the eaves. The rear was quieter and had a conventional WC whilst the front room had a pumped drainage system which... More
