Stayed here for one night as it was half the price of the large chain hotels that I normally use. Almost booked a single room but noticed it was not ensuite. Booked an ensuite double for single occupancy. Room was fine for one. Bit small for two people to sit comfortably and watch tv but was well equipped with everything... More

Stayed here over one of the hottest weekends in July. The hotel is easy to locate and the car park although bijou, is more than adequate if guests park sensibly and with others in mind. I had a room (10) located in the main hotel but access via a door from the courtyard. The room was very warm, but a... More

Stayed for one night at The Poplars whilst in the area for my flight simulator experience. Nice hotel. Very clean and the food at dinner and breakfast was excellent. We were allocated a courtyard room which was spacious and cool. They have a flat roof which was an issue at 4am when the heavens opened but this was a minor... More

Stayed for a wedding this weekend in sweltering temperatures. The thick walls of our shady courtyard room meant that we at least had a retreat and were we grateful. The hostess is warm, humorous and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, nor was she intrusive. Susan Henderson purchased the hotel in February and we think without doubt that she... More

A charming hotel, in a lovely village which is close to Northampton centre. The hotel has the old charm with modern features. The rooms are comfortable, clean and pleasant. The breakfast was just what we wanted. The The owners are warm, welcoming and lively, and happy to give information and the general service was high. A good location and good... More

The hotel is in a charming village with easy access to Northampton, giving a quiet, restful experience. The rooms are modern, well equipped & very clean. Staff are friendly, food is excellent. Great value for money but be sure to get directions. We were a little nervous when we heard that the owners had retired but Susan, the new owner,... More

This is the third time that I have stayed at the Poplars- the last time being about five years ago. It is a convenient location for Northampton, and Moulton still has a village feel about it. It is close to the large Pitsford reservoir. The Poplars is well situated but with a slightly difficult turn out from the driveway. I... More

The Poplars is a charming traditional hotel in a quintessential English village. I stayed one night to visit the ancient church where my mother was married during World War II. The owners are warm, welcoming and lively, and happy to give information and advice. I had a comfortable quiet small bedroom overlooking the parking lot with shared bathroom facilities. Everything... Hotel is tucked neatly off main road in Moulton village. Clean and tidy rooms. Car parking can be a squeeze but overflow parking at nearby pub is available. The top rating is due to excellent friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The hotel has a relaxing vibe. Good service.
