Recently had a large family wedding celebration / get together here. Used the function room which was well equipped and took over most of the accommodation for the family. Pub was very busy Saturday night with a band, but (despite being fairly loud) this didn't affect us in the adjacent function room. Hotel is quite separate, interesting as there is... More

I frequently stay for one or two nights a week in this area and try to vary my accommodation to add interest. This is the first time I have stayed at the Walnut Tree and I was very pleased. Firstly, dealing with train noise, quite simply it is not an issue. The trains are diesel electric and traveling at speed... More

On a recent trip to the Walnut Tree Inn we did not find that the noise from the trains too intrusive. You could hear them from our front room but they did not run during the night and it was not too early in the morning when they started . The food was fairly good but we felt that it... More

I admit I had been a little nervous about booking here after seeing all the comments about train noise. I was at the back of the hotel so the trains hardly disturbed me at all and they don't run all night. Having booked a stay for a major event at Silverstone, I can say I was not disappointed. The rooms... More

I foolishly booked this for a 2 night day whilst away on business, what I didn't do was my homework! Oh my goodness how close is the trainline?!? Very! And how loud is it when you're in Room 4; enough to shake the bed! Needless to say if you want a good nights sleep & want to sleep beyond 6am... More

Stayed for two nights whilst attending an event at Silverstone, as did many fellow guests, we discovered. WE knew about the train noise from previous reviewers, but they didn't really bother us, even with the window open & without resorting to the supplied ear plugs. It's an old building, & some of the plumbing reflects that fact, but all expected... More

Stayed for two nights for a recent wedding. Room was nice, not modern but fitted in with the hotel style. We ate in the bar the first evening and although lovely the portions are not large. In retiring to bed that evening we had a little giggle as the room shook as we noticed the first train pass by our... More

We booked 2 rooms to attend a wedding reception.I was told at the time there were few rooms available and only superior rooms were left. There were no wedding guest reductions in the prices of the rooms either and I was told it was not their policy to reduce the prices of the rooms for wedding guests.Breakfast was however, included .We... Many thanks for your comments, which have been taken into consideration and acted upon. We feel, however, that we should respond to breakfast issues. We are only a small hotel and therefore it is not possible to offer the whole range of breakfast options one would normally expect in a larger hotel. What we do offer is a breakfast cooked... More

Booked by a colleague, when we arrived we thought how nice we'd crossed a few canals and it was in a nice area. The hotel is clean with nice bar and restaurant. The rooms we had were at the front of the hotel. With the weather being very warm the window was open. Within minutes you could hear a loud... More
