A return visit. £32 for a Thursday night stay. We were given Room 101, a large room overlooking Gold Street. Comfortable night. Parked in Sol Central again. Recommended for convenience in central Northampton. .

Arrived at the hotel with bags to find entrance door locked, with staff chatting behind the reception desk. After eventually being let in, said staff continue their chit chat and I wait for the conversation to finish... Not a great start. Check in procedure was pretty straight forward, however uninspiring - no welcome, no enjoy your stay and the receptionist... More

The rooms in this hotel were very big but it was the sort of place where you didn't want to take your shoes off. The sofa-bed was disgusting although the sheets were very clean. We had two powercuts, the TV worked only intermittently, there was no-where to park. We were recommended this place as we were going to a wedding... More

There was wee in the lift I think . The corridors where freezing and smelly and the room. Had a view of a brick wall . Other than that fantastic "

You pay for what you get, we booked in advance and paid £19 for a 'family room', very basic rooms wouldnt stay any longer than one evening. Very helpful reception staff. Would book a room on the top floors and a room away from the main street as can be very noisy at the weekends esp! Excellent location for central... More

I've given this an excellent rating for the 2 reasons in the headline. I was there to save going home after a night out with friends who'd gathered from across the country. The reception staff were friendly & welcoming, made it very clear how the property operates. We were allocated a room on the top floor at the very end... More

My husband and I stayed here on a busy Friday night rather than driving home after an Xmas party. Our room was huge (perhaps because there is nothing in the room other than the bed), clean and functional. Although it was really cold at first, the heater soon worked and took the edge off. It felt very secure and the... More

Stayed here on a Tuesday night to save driving home after a day and evening in London. It's not far from the train station. I checked in at just after midnight and was given room 5 on the ground floor. This was a very cold room - despite the heating being on full blast - and the plastic covering on... More

I stayed here before Travellodge took it, and then after, I booked ten months in advance and so got a single for twelve pounds weekdays, it was too expensive on the Saturday, so stayed elsewhere, then moved back; I was there about ten days altogether. The good points are that it's very central, there's a lift, it felt secure, the... More
