This is a perfectly nice hotel that probably hasn't been updated since it was founded in (apparently) 1975. The decor was on the cusp of becoming "charming" rather than "dated", but everything worked OK, though it took me a while to work out how to plug in the (much needed) electric radiator. Breakfast was nice and the staff were friendly.... More

The Langham is more like a large B&B or hostel rather than a hotel. It is in desperate need of refurbishment in all areas. A 20 minute hike from the train station on foot, on a busy main road and the very old plastic windows which can't be closed properly mean the road noise is not conducive to a good... More

This hotel is cheap for a reason. I could go on about so many negatives but its already been said. One thing I experienced having stayed there a couple of times was that on my last occasion I booked via Internet but when I got there the guy on the desk just said he has no rooms. He basically said... More

Stayed at this hotel overnight in October and for the price we paid we were very satisfied. We arrived early evening after a lengthy journey from France, tired and hungry. Check in was simple and although from first appearances we thought that the proprietor was a little aloof, our later experiences showed that this was not the case and she... More

Absolutely terrible place to stay. A good 25 minute minute uphill walk from Railway Station, Reception closed at 10.45am, room was baltic, ran the taps in the sink in the morning and God only knows what it was that regurgitated itself up through the plug hole, bar is shut by 9.30 on a Saturday night. After a freezing cold night... More

The" Hotel Inspector" would have a nightmare with this hotel. Reception is always closed and I think I made the probable lady owner miss her favourite TV programme when I booked in! The room number 6, was abysmal, holes in the sheets, threadbare towels, no temperature control on the shower (which power was low and cold at night, lukewarm in... More

Sorry to say I have only been able to give 2 star rating for pretty much same reasons as everyone else! Greeted at door and shown to reception although took about 2 minutes after ringing bell to get into hotel. Lady who answered door welcomed us in and took time to give us information about local places and then directed... More

Spent 3 enjoyable days here with 7 friends who were surprised at the friendly staff who welcomed us. It's full of character and anybody that says it looks old and needs refurbishing, don't be silly it's what you get. My second time here and I would stay again.

Upon entrance there was a couple at the reception just checking in and I saw the landlady handing over the keys to room 26 and she said 'rather you than me' to them! Unbelievable, what a start this was! Then I was greeted by her saying 'am I polish?' I actually found it quite insulting because I'm no way polish!!... More
