We stayed her from Sunday to Wednesday. Very friendly gentleman met us on arrival and showed us to our very large room with it's newly fitted huge shower cubicle. The room was clean and pleasant with its huge window making the room very bright. Went we went down for breakfast the same gentleman welcomed us and was offering tea, coffee... More

There are no frills here but the rooms are comfortable & very clean. The shower was excellent. The breakfast was also very good , with a good choice. The hotel is situated in a quiet side street just a short stroll from a bus stop into town. You can also walk into town, it will only take about 10 minutes.... More

We enjoyed our stay at the St. Georges. The room was well decorated, very clean and the bed was comfortable. The B&B was well situated, a short walk from the city walls. And the breakfast was very good. The bathroom was not for big people, but clean and nice. Would go back!

The bar was high for this place. Having read the reviews I was worried that the proprietor Andy may not have been as jovial as people have indicated and his cat not as fat. Thankfully on both counts I was not disappointed and more importantly the room was nice, small and basic but pleasant and the breakfast superb. Really good... More

We had the dog and were given a room right beside the reception at the front door. I thought this would be noisy but actually it was lovely and quiet. Good park to walk the dog close by. The room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Just slightly too far from the centre for us but right beside the... More

St.Georges, offers a warm and friendly welcome, ideally situated in a quiet cul-de-sac(10 min walk to the centre). The staff were very friendly throughout our stay, and Andy has front of house running like clockwork. The breakfasts were excellent, not only a good selection but also perfectly presented. The rooms were large, clean and bright, with large tv, tea and... More

Just back from a 3 night stay at the St Georges and can only agree with all the complimentary comments already made by other guests. This was our first time to York (won't be the last!) and couldn't have been happier with our accommodation choice. Our room was spacious, well kept, bright and clean with tea/coffee making facilities, a huge... More

Perfect location. Great breakfast with loads of choice. Comfortable and spacious room. All at a Fabulous price. Don't come here expecting shiny modern furniture. Not especially child friendly but that can be a plus ! This is a proper guest house run by a lovely family. Easy walk into York or buses on main road. Definitely go back.
