Stayed for two nights and we found the 'Bay Tree Guest House' clean and welcoming in a great location although on a busy main road its 10 minutes walk to the city and 10 minutes walk to the racecourse. The room was a little small but clean and well presented with ensuite shower and small wall mounted TV. The breakfast... More

We stayed here for two nights. The b&b is a 10 minute stroll into town, perfect location. Parking is also available for guests. We went to the races on the Saturday - again, it is only a 10 minute walk to the racecourse. The room we stayed in was at the top of the house. Very clean, newly decorated, tasteful.... More

After a busy & tiring day we were delighted to find the check-in process quick & freindly. The room was comfortable & peaceful and breakfast & service the next morning was first class - puts some of the so called big name hotels to shame. More

Our stay was just nearly perfect. The room was beautifully decorated with sky windows and a view of the church across the street. Clare enlisted a local bakery to help produce the most wonderful croissants for our first breakfast. The eggs and the sausages were also locally produced. Then we tried Clare's own granola. It was the best we've ever... More

The service provided by Andrew and Clare was second to none. The ensuite double room was very clean and comfortable. Light and airy, full of original features and within walking distance of all the amenities, charm and character that York has to offer. The full Yorkshire breakfast was delectable and extremely well presented. Thank you Clare and Andrew for giving... More

Been a few years since I last stopped at the Bay Tree Guest House and it just gets better. Recent renovations have enhanced some of the rooms. The proprietors are as charming as can be and a new staff member, Nikki, to help with breakfast also makes the morning shine. Construction was finishing as we arrived and our privacy was... More
