I've now stayed at the Alcuin twice and recommend it highly. Parking is easy, the hotel is clean and the rooms well decorated. The city is walkable and the breakfasts are great. If I have any criticism it is that the double beds are quite narrow (5ft I believe) but i'll be back more

A nice clean place to stay, hosts were very friendly, food fantastic and bedroom we stayed in was quiet, clean, comfortable and tidy. It's well worth recommending to everyone wanting to stay in York, and only a few minutes walk through the park to the town centre. We look forward to staying there again some time soon. more

Alcuin Lodge is a really elegant Boutique Style small Hotel run by the owners. Alcuin Lodge if very lovely. The location is perfect, very peaceful cul de sac, just outside the city walls but a very quick walk to get inside them by pavement or along the river or through the Museum Gardens.
