We were in a group of 9 on a hen party, when we arrived the owner was not in and had gone to the bank, so we went away and came back. We were made to pay the balance before we even went up to our room. Our room was to sleep 9 and had one shower! The breakfast was... More

We needed two twin rooms at short notice as our daughter who lives in York had just given birth to our first grandson. The owner was very accommodating as we needed one room for one night and the second room for two as the grandmas were staying on to help!! We were in room 2 which was a large well... More

We arrived later than planned, it being a 4 hour plus drive and there being a big accident on the M1. Rang ahead to say we would be there after 4 and the lady was very nice about it. She had had to arrange childcare but didn't make a big thing about it with us. She did have to rush... More

we have just had a w/end here and found it to be very nice. The ladies who run it are very friendly, cannot do enough for you, I arranged for a late check in, this was no problem, there was somebody there to reet us and show us to our room, even gave us directions to a restaurant on our... More

We stayed for 2 nights in 'the hobbit room', upstairs. It was very comfortable and quiet, and clean throughout. The breakfast was great. Everybody was very friendly. For a good value B&B, this is an excellent choice.

We are a family of five, the latest addition being our 6 week old baby. When we started looking for somewhere to stay for a little city break we found all the big hotels insist you book two rooms, pretty much doubling the price for one tiny extra person. Anyway, this was the first time we, as a family have... More

£320 for a room per night is incredibly excessive, especially when you are sleeping in a bunk bed in a room with 7 others. The one bathroom to share also made it interesting. Location was OK, however the main issues was the poor service, poor breakfast and I didn't particually like being sworn at by landlady. We could not get... More

Our abrupt and impatient reception was just a mild introduction to what would follow. I was staying in a room for 8, consisting of 3 bunk beds and 2 singles cramed into a room and with very uncomfy mattresses - costing us £640 for 2 nights for this room alone! Another 2 in our group had to stay in a... More

The lady that worked there was extremely rude to us and didn't even apologise. On the first night we were shouted at for trying to use the entrance we had originally come through earlier that day. If we weren't supposed to use that entrance then at least one of the 14 in our group should have been told. On the... More
