We interrupted a family party buy that was no problem. Everyone was happy and friendly. We were given a map and advised where we were and how to get into town. Hotel is a short stroll along the river into town. Very picturesque. Room was nicely decorated, great sized mattress. Water, coffee and tea making facilities, complimentary chocolates. Bathroom not... More

We stayed in a "Superior Double" room. Bed was comfy and the bathroom was very spacious. Hotel was well situated, being 10-15 mins walk to the city centre. The rate charged was one of the lower rates given the hotel location on the website we used. They had a cat and dog who were both very cute :-) The only... More

The York Priory suited us down to the ground. Friendly staff, whether on the phone or face to face, cracking location within a short distance of most of York's most popular attractions, especially the walk beside the river Ouse, which took us less than 15 minutes to the main centre and a very pleasant en suite double room with an... This looks like a really nice, friendly, family run business online. Not sure if they were just having an 'off day' but the staff seemed a bit flustered with lots of huffing and puffing whilst attending to us. The place is tired, the rooms are cold and drafty. The mattress was so hard my back ached all day (I'm 35... More

I stayed here is a single traveller. It was easy to find, had on-site parking. Lovely lounge area with daily papers, separate bar area with very reasonably priced wine! Staff very good. Breakfast paid for as extra but freshly cooked for me and happy with. B&B has a lovely garden with seating and tables if you wish to use. Single... More

We stayed for one night, 4 adults for a night out in one room. The room was a good size and clean, the double bed was Definately bigger and the two singles which we expected to be sofa or cater for children were a standard single size. The room didn't feel cramped. Also they remembered 4 sets of towels, tea... More

Stayed here with my other half for one night. We had a "Superior room" on the 3rd floor, very tired and dated, evidence of water damage on ceiling. Bathroom was shabby, fan not working and window wouldn't open. In our opinion definitely not a four star B&B. Overpriced! Plus side - Receptionist extremely helpful and owners pleasant, breakfast was nice... More

We are very sorry to hear about your experience while staying at The York Priory. Our Superior rooms are defined by floor space and bed size, and the extras included such as Sky TV movie package. They are designed for a longer stay, compared to our Classic doubles that are more compact in size and designed for a shorter/over-night stay.... More

Stay here 5 or 6 times a year its like going home Liz and staff are brilliant. Breakfast really sets you up for the day. Only a five minute walk along the river and you are into the town centre. Rooms are lovely and clean and nothing is too much trouble for Liz and the team. Cant wait for our... More
