Externally, the aesthetic wasn't a godsend, internally the same thing can be said. Our night here consisted of beds that weren't incredibly comfortable, the decor and furniture looked tired and worn and the TV's are dated but for the price I suppose it was barely decent, but I expected standards to have been a bit higher. Wouldn't recommend, find some... More

This hotel is hidden (and attached to) a pub and clearly hasn't always belonged to travelodge. It still has all the furnishings of the previous owner which makes it rather unusual. It is well back off what is a very busy road so there is no danger of road noise in any of the rooms. It took me ten minutes... More

Externally - paint peeling from window frames. Pleasant and effecient check-in. Room clean and bed very comfortable. Bathroom appears to have been recently upgraded with walk-in shower. Room had only one chair so partner forced to sit on bed during our stay. Door security ancient.

This Travelodge has seen better days. Decor, carpets and fittings are in need of a revamp - although clean and decent. I ordered a twin room but was presented with a double. On querying this I was told "computer says double"! Fortunately I had a print-out of the booking, so was able to get a twin. The heating was on... More

On arrival to the hotel we noticed how run down it looked particularly the old wooden windows and wasn't surprised when greeted with the smell of damp. Although our family room was fairly spacious the mattresses where very very uncomfortable particularly my daughters. She could feel the springs and on trying it myself was shocked. We ended up doubling up... More

The staff were friendly and the room itself was excellent. It had recently been refurbished and at £30 represented excellent value. However the outside looked dismal (dirty, rotten woodwork and flaking paint). The internal decoration in the public areas looked about 30 years old. Stale greasy smells from the grim pub/restaurant next door greeted you at the entrance.

Booked in for 2 nights to visit my son who is at university 5 minutes away by car. The staff are friendly, helpful and were easy to find when I asked more towels. The room 217 is large with a king-size bed, big walk-in shower and ample storage space. The carpet in the bedroom and on the landing is new.... More

Building quite old, carpets on stairs stuck together with carpet tape, needs updating which would hopefully make it smell better too. Staff always smoking round entrance to hotel with cigarette ends in plant containers and littering entrance floor. Pub next door (Black Bull) looked nice, but has music far too loud on one side and full of children on other... More

We only booked one night for £42 which is a fair enough price and shouldn't expect much. As we drove in the car park we've seen the worn out exterior and had a bad feeling about it straightaway. As we got the keys and walked in the room the smell of damp hit us. The plumbing needs some attention as... More
