We arrived on Friday in the afternoon to a warm welcome and parked the cars to the rear of the hotel, yes the car park is a little tight but very well maintained and cars are secure. Staff are polite and willing to help with anything they can. Rooms are clean, warm and modernised. The room we stayed in had... more

We arrived in York after an horrific encounter the night before with a hotel near Yarm the night before. At this point we were down about £65.00 as we’d paid in advance and were just trying to salvage our anniversary weekend by taking a trip to York. We decided to stay and needed to find a hotel or B& B... more

Stayed for a Monday night. Very warm welcome from the stand-in receptionist. Lovely room (No 6) up at the top: simple, but with a firm bed, and little noise. Slept very well. In the morning there was eggs & bacon breakfast quickly prepared by a smiling cook. It cost me £35 for the night, B&B. Really good value. Gerogina House... more

Since 2003, we have stayed at The Georgian Guest House four times. This time we definitely noticed improvements in the place, by means of the decor, furnishings and friendly service, The full english breakfast was great and the staff making and serving the breakfast were very nice and helpful. We would stay there again without hesitation. The location is excellent... more

I by no means claim that this hotel is perfect, but i have paid allot more to stay in worse places than this. I spent a few days a week here for most of jan, feb, and some of march this year whilst working in york., and ive got to say the location is second to none. Its a few... more

After admittedly struggling to find a room in york at short notice we came across The Georgian House on the web and they had a room available. We could see that this was a 'budget' hotel but at £75 per night it's not that cheap. When we arrived the owner was very friendly and helpful carefully explaining the best night... more

This hotel has just had a refurbishment by the new owner, it looks almost complete, our room had original oak beams and a nice view of well kept gardens, the dividing wall between the adjoining room was plasterboard and on our second night the guy next door decided to come in at 2am and shuffle his furniture about and leave... more

I booked this hotel at short notice for my partner and I to have a weekend away. Then I found this website and almost cancelled and I am so glad I didn't. It's not magnificent but it was clean, the staff were friendly and the breakfasts enormous. Our room was deep in the bowels of the building and I suspect... more

To state this two night stay was reminiscent of Fawlty Towers would be an understatement. We checked in and had to pay for the room before we had even seen in - that should have started the alarm bells ringing! We were told where the room was and had to make our own way there. The room was 'grotty' looking... more
