I did go to this bar 3 years ago after it was recommended and the meal I got was lovely and made me want to go back. The second time last year we could not get a seat because it was packed. Last week we booked a table and I had the Caesar salad. I am afraid I will now... More

We had a very war reception from all the staff here and found a great place to eat. If you have a health appetite this is the place for you fantastic homemade pies absolutely full of meat and a plate full for under £10. We have been staying in York for 5 days and have eaten here twice. We will... More

If you want reliable pub food, and lashings of it, this is the place to be in York. The homemade game pie was superb, the beer is wonderful and the staff very friendly. There is an extensive menu of excellent homemade food. The pub is just outside the city walls and five minutes from the centre.

We'd been recommended this pub/eatery by friends who'd visited York on a previous ocasion, so we tried it. We're still friends - but not with this place. Watery coke, forgotten beer order - ought to have been a clue, really. I guess with a big turn over of visitors to York, they feel they don't need to encourage people to... More

We stayed in April whilst visiting the Festival of Vintage. The accommodation was spotless, not the most luxurious but great value for money, short walk into town, and great food served in the pub! We will definitely stay again, & would have no hesitation in recommending.

The hotel itself is in a great location with free parking but that's the only good thing I can say. The room was compact and the sheets on the bed clean but that was the only thing that was. Cobwebs were everywhere, there were hairs all over the bathroom, someone else's rubish in the bin and the tea and coffee... More

York. A place of mystery and history. Stories and more, with a choice of 365 places to forget your family and friends and awake in mysterious places. When it comes to food (scran) there is no other that compares. I am talking about the Mason Arms. Finest food in all the seven kingdoms. This is the 3rd time I've destroyed... More

The Mason Arms in the square in Mickleover is a smallish traditional pub but the food they serve is anything but ordinary. It's locally sourced food beautifully cooked small menu meaning the food is cooked to order and is very very good. I was inpresssed that there was a choice of gluten free desserts. They also do a good range... More
