Just come back from a great weekend in York, Crook Lodge is great and Brian and his wife are very helpful. The breakfast was great and Brian gave us a bottle of wine on our arrival which was a lovely touch. Again Thanks for a great stay John & Mo

Nice, but small, first floor room, with great bathroom. Off street parking was good. Short walk through the St. Mary's Abbey ruins and museum park into the city center. A little hard to find a place to eat nearby.

My wife and I stayed at Crook Lodge for 1 night on October 27th. We arrived at 3pm on Sunday and were greeted outside by the friendly owner, Brian, who quickly let us in and showed us to our room. Brian was very helpful with advice on where to eat and how to get about. We had a double room... More

We had a full week in York and wanted a convenient base near the railway station for days out. Being only 6 minutes walk from station (once you knew the short cut) and less than 10 minutes from the Minster, Crook Lodge was ideal. As others have noted the rooms are small (especially the bathrooms), theres no getting away from... More

We stayed at Crook Lodge for 2 nights. My sister and I stayed in a twin room up at the very top of the house. It was very comfortable. It was a busy weekend with the food festival going on and we were very lucky to find a room, but as we stayed 2 nites Brian took us. It is... More

We stayed 2 nights at Crook lodge and enjoyed our experience. The owner was most accommodating and helped out with dining reservations and changes in plans for touring. It's location near Yorkshire Museum, the gardens, downtown York and the Railway museum made it excellent for exploring on foot. The rooms were very small, although very nicely decorated in Victorian style.... More

Lovely old building, about 10 minutes walk from city centre, either through museum gardens or along the riverfront. Nice enough decor, immaculately clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was a bit small, with the smallest en-suite imaginable, but the king-size in there was welcome. Breakfast, as others have mentioned, is delicious and substantial. Also, the off-street parking on... More

I stayed here with 4 other Austrian friends for 1 night for sight seeing in York. Owner allowed to to arrive early and leave cars at B and B which was great as only 5 minutes walk into city centre. Rooms were spotlessly clean with good decor and comfortable beds (mine was small as in the attic but had a... More
