My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights 26-28th July 2015. On arrival we were greeted by Les and Al, who were very friendly, helpful and had so much knowledge about the area. Our room was clean, plenty of choice of drinks/biscuits and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast had a variety of options available such as a cooked breakfast, fresh... More

Thoroughly enjoyed my three nights in York. The Abbeyfields is well located with a less than ten minute walk into the centre of York itself. Al the owner was extremely knowledgeable regarding York, it's history, places to eat and drink and the local tourist attractions of which there are hundreds. The room was very clean and ensuite small but more... More

I spent three days here. It is close to the train station using their directions and close to the minister. I had a single room that was small but nice. The breakfast was especially good with a choice of a hearty hot breakfast or smoked salmon and eggs. Both were excellent. They also had wonderful freshly baked bread, fresh fruit,... More

I booked the last remaining single room with ensuite for 2 nights at Abbeyfields on 12 - 13th July 2015. Called 'Cocoa' and located up 6 flights of stairs under the eaves in this old terrace, the room was quiet, clean and well equipped including an ironing board, iron and hair dryer which all worked. The only issue I found... More

Third time visiting this lovely, well-appointed, and accessible B & B. Les and Allan continue to provide a welcoming standard of excellence literally next door to the old city gates in York. The aroma of fresh-baked bread awakens to a full English. Rooms are clean, well-equipped and spacious. Parking, even in high season is no problem, adjacent to the front... More

Lovely B&B in a good location a short walk from the city centre. Good, comfortable sleep and a super breakfast. Car park around the back is tight if you have a large car but manageable. Overall really good.

I won't repeat the numerous positive attributes presented in preceding reviews except to say a few things that stood out for me. The owners are extremely attentive should you need anything. Waking up to the baking bread is an amazing way to start out the day and the whole-grained breads are delicious. In fact, the entire breakfast was fantastic. My... More

My wife & I (active early 60s couple) stayed here for 3 nights in May 2015 as part of our 2-week vacation in England. We selected Abbeyfields based on recommendations both here on TripAdvisor and in Rick Steves' book and were extremely pleased with our choice -- this was our favorite of all the places we stayed during our trip!... My wife and I found the Abbeyfields B&B spacious clean in a nice neighborhood located in an area with numerous other B&B's. It as very conveniently located within walking distance to the train station even with 2 suit cases. The owners served a great breakfast in a pleasant dining room. Each morning we had a choice of freshly baked bread... More

Was lucky enough to get in here as there had been a cancellation. Parked round the back which has room for 2 car's otherwise it's on street parking with a voucher from the b&b. A short walk down the road and you go through a small underpass then a further short walk takes you to the museum gardens, from there... More
