My wife & I (active early 60s couple) stayed here for 3 nights in May 2015 as part of our 2-week vacation in England. We selected Abbeyfields based on recommendations both here on TripAdvisor and in Rick Steves' book and were extremely pleased with our choice -- this was our favorite of all the places we stayed during our trip!... My wife and I found the Abbeyfields B&B spacious clean in a nice neighborhood located in an area with numerous other B&B's. It as very conveniently located within walking distance to the train station even with 2 suit cases. The owners served a great breakfast in a pleasant dining room. Each morning we had a choice of freshly baked bread... More

Was lucky enough to get in here as there had been a cancellation. Parked round the back which has room for 2 car's otherwise it's on street parking with a voucher from the b&b. A short walk down the road and you go through a small underpass then a further short walk takes you to the museum gardens, from there... More

I can't think of a single bad thing to say about this place. Very cute, on a quiet street, and convenient to shopping and exploring in York. Wonderful home-cooked breakfast and the owner, Al, was so helpful. Probably not an ideal place for young singles as it's very quiet inside, but perfect for couples of any age.

A lovely guest house, with nice rooms and good breakfasts. Close to the city centre of York, so it's just a short walk to the Minster and the intriguing, winding old city streets. There's a shortcut (not sure if it's shorter, but it is nicer) through the Yorkshire Museum gardens that is just delightful. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

I felt I had to write a review about this wonderful B&B. Now where do I start! there are so many things we loved about Abbeyfields. It's situated on a lovely tree lined quiet road with parking right outside. We were greeted by a lovely freindly lady called Les who spent time showing us on a map where we were... More

This is a very belated review for a stay last year. This is a lovely bed and breakfast about a 10 minute walk from York railway station and from the city centre (via the pretty Museum Gardens or along the river). The hosts are gracious and informative. We loved the décor of the house, which is tasteful and in keeping... More

Perfect position for visiting York; make sure you have arranged with Les and Al the car parking and you can park up and walk into the city in minutes. Information on places to eat and visit is exemplary. Single room may have to be upgraded on my next visit to a twin with single occupancy but nothing wrong just a... More

Lovely B&B just a short walk from the centre of York.Friendly, knowledgeable owner with lots of helpful info to make the most of your stay. Comfortable, pleasant room with thoughtful extras. The convenient parking is a real bonus and the breakfasts are delicious. Would definitely stay here again.

The location of Abbeyfields cannot be faulted. It is really convenient to make the short walk into the city centre and the major attractions such as the Minster, the Shambles and the museums. It was so nice to leave the car parked up for the duration of our stay. Our room was at the front on the second floor and... More
