Just got back from a few days away with family there was 11 of us and we have had a fab stay, the rooms were spacious and very clean, only complaint was the showers not powerful enough for 2 of the rooms but 1 family was in the anex and that was great, within walking distance to city. Within walking distance from the railway station. Extremely friendly staff. Nice English breakfast. Good speed of WiFi. Basic rooms in old house, so expect sttep stairs, No ventilation (you have to open heavy windows and keep them open with something hard). Bathroom without hairdryer, so take one. When you have room from the street and you are sensitive to noise,... More

Just got back from a three day stay at this hotel with my husband. Arrived earlier than planned but as the room was ready we could check in. We were given two maps of York and had the main highlights pointed out - York Minster, Betty's etc. Our double room was at the front of the b&b next to the... More

After arriving 20 minutes after the check in time - we informed the cleaners that we were there and it was another 15 minutes before anyone came to check us in. The phone rang and someone was complaining about the service. The alarm bells should have started ringing then. When we eventually got into the room we decided it was... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night on our way back from Whitby. We had been told prior to arrival that if we arrived early we could use the car park. When we arrived late morning our room was ready for us so we were able to check in. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. Our... More

We had a good-sized room for our 2 night stay but one bed had no bedside table which is always annoying. Towels were strange: we had two bath towels but no hand towels except something of a strange texture which we weren't sure about. Excellent breakfast and very convenient for York, although it is on the far side from the... More

Our ensuite was tiny but clean . Breakfast is good and well presented . It's a old place and considering its on a Main Street it was quiet enough . Staff were helpfull and nice although when we arrived we had to go next door to the other hotel to find someone but it was all good

We stayed here for the weekend in what appeared to be a recently renovated room. The first let down was that that our towels appeared to have not been changed since the previous guests, this was rectified on the second time of asking, as was our request for another roll of toilet paper. The B&B is within a 30 minute... More
