This is the third time I've stayed here: once on my own for an academic conference at the U. of York, then six months later with my husband for our honeymoon, and again this December for a one year anniversary trip. So the fact that we came all the way from California to stay here is a testament to how... More

Lovely friendly reception on arrival. Very informative on the area and allowed me to park the car next day saving extortionate parking charges in the centre. Nice clean large room. There is noise from the road if you are at the front but the bed was so comfy it didn't affect my sleep. Shower was good and powerful once you... More

Less than10 min walk to the gates of Micklegate and only 10 min from the train station, it's a perfect place to stay. Ample free car parking space, free WiFi, brilliant breakfast and the best coffee so far. The room was warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Excellent value for money, friendly staff and owners and we would definitely return. Thank... More

Good parking to rear and well within a 10 min stroll of town center and bars. We always have a filling breakfast with the offer of more, there is a wide... More

Perfect place to stay. Staff friendly and accommodating, The Location is fine, on bus route, and relatively close to the city centre. Plenty of parking at the rear of the Hotel and access quite good and well sign posted. Nice clean bedroom, excellent cooked breakfast and choices for alternatives, and again staff very good. In my opinion this is a... More

Our room had tea/coffe making facilities/plenty of storage/Small TV with usual inbuilt media/private wash basin even though we had private bathroom with fab power shower/wash basin/toilet etc next door. Within walking distance from the railway station. Extremely friendly staff. Nice English breakfast. Good speed of WiFi. Basic rooms in old house, so expect sttep stairs, No ventilation (you have to open heavy windows and keep them open with something hard). Bathroom without hairdryer, so take one. When you have room from the street and you are sensitive to noise,... More

Just got back from a three day stay at this hotel with my husband. Arrived earlier than planned but as the room was ready we could check in. We were given two maps of York and had the main highlights pointed out - York Minster, Betty's etc. Our double room was at the front of the b&b next to the... More

After arriving 20 minutes after the check in time - we informed the cleaners that we were there and it was another 15 minutes before anyone came to check us in. The phone rang and someone was complaining about the service. The alarm bells should have started ringing then. When we eventually got into the room we decided it was... More
