Completely changed our view on camping. Lovely location, great booking system let you choose your pitch, camp fires (logs for sale on site), BBQ to hire to cook over the camp fire, would recommend the local cider on sale. I can honestly say it was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable breaks I've had home or abroad and have... More

I really enjoyed my stay at The hideaway. Me and my boyfriend stayed in one of the 3 eco pods which are very reasonable priced (we paid £35 each for two nights). I am not a fan of camping so staying in a pod was very nice. The hideaway has lovely clean toilets and shower, a small shop, camp fire... More

This is a fantastic camp site and we would highly recommend to those wanting a peaceful and relaxing camping experience. This was our first stay at The Hideway but we'll definitely be returning. We stayed in one of the Ecopods for two nights and would repeat this but would equally come and pitch our tent here too. The Ecopod experience... More

We stayed here in September, and we were met by the owner and his dog who were very welcoming! We had booked a bell tent however the owner kindly moved us to a pod. The bell tents were in our view an ordinary tent, with fold up chairs two folded foam sofa/bed, no real bed and cushions, with a matting... More

Loved the location and everything about the facility. We only stayed one night as that was all we had required but we will be back again because it was great. We got completely drenched while pitching our tent but having the use of a dryng room was such a bonus. Its is so nice to have such a well kept... More

We visited here at the end of august and couldn't have been happier! We stayed in one of the wonderful bell tents which are great for those like myself who aren't quite up for the regular camping. They make camping as comfortable as possible and contained many helpful items for your stay such as chairs for sitting round the lovely... More

Very pleasant stay here at the Hideaway. The facilities onsite were great and the toilets/showers were regularly cleaned everyday. There was a small shop for some basic essentials, this came in handy as the nearest place to buy anything from was quite a good few miles away. We opted to stay in a bell tent as opposed to an eco... Young Wob and I stayed for 1 night last minute and had a great time, having a real wood fire outside your tent without worrying about some elf n safety nanny whinging about everything is a fantastic experience these days. We did sample the toilet block and this is why girls will like it because its clean and as bug... More

Hmmm I realise I'm in the minority here but I was very disappointed with this site. True the toilets were great, loved the idea of everyone having to put shoe covers on, sadly, not everyone did, not the fault of owners but other campers, perhaps they thought their mud was ok!! The 'wild flowers' may be fabulous in late spring/early... More

We have a choice every year; mow all the grass and have NO wildflowers or have a couple of months early on in the summer where the wildflowers look fantastic. Maybe we will mow one area and leave the others....but then all the children will end up playing in that area and not everyone (especially campers with no children) would... More

What fantastic facilities, led by a very friendly and helpful Barney. Putting aside the excellent central building with drying room, good modern showers, small shop and phone charging point, by far the greatest feature is the fact that every pitch has a fire pit. In itself a fire pit is a fantastic addition, but the hidden bonus is Health and... More
