Very good location - literally down the road you have the centre of York - walking distance! Parking available which was good. We had a room on the top floor which was average. It was dated. The room wasn't like the photos-I think some rooms had been renovated but not all. Therefore average hotel. Price for one night excluding breakfast... More

We loved our stay in Hedley House. It's in a nice, quiet neighbourhood not far from the center and the train station (if you find the footpath from the train station, which is a bit tricky). Public Areas are beautifully and interestingly decorated with funny sayings everywhere on the walls. Rooms (in the main building) were big and nice, with... More

Sorry but this was disappointing. When you pay more than £100 for single occupancy B&B I think it's fair to have high expectations; or even moderate expectations like not having to pay for private car parking (the hotel on the next block doesn't charge), like having a serviceable free wi-fi system ("you can always try in the lounge downstairs if... We stayed at the Hedley House for four nights during our recent visit in York. We arrived during a heat wave and our room (number 8) was hot. We were provided with a fan but our window could only be opened about six inches. Even when it cooled off at night outside, we could not bring enough of that air... More

I stayed here last weekend and was pleased with my selection. A small, friendly hotel very close to the centre of York. Pleasant staff and a good sized suite. It's all a bit cramped downstairs but pleasant enough. If I'm being honest how long would you actually want to be inside when there's so much to experience outside? For me... More

Excellent location 5 minute walk through the park to centre. Friendly staff. Lovely big, comfortable beds. Clean and well kept rooms. Nice sitting room and outdoor areas to relax in. Parking a bit tight but staff ensured we had parking as booked in advance. Would stay again.

Conscientious staff, large rooms and a great location. Breakfast was very good as well. The place is family run and it shows that the staff are invested and take pride in what they do. Didn't eat other meals there, it is a short walk to the nearest gate and from there you can walk along the wall viewing the the... More

Feeling in need of some "r&r", my partner and I decided to escape to York for a couple of days.( I did, however, have an ulterior motive - Justin Hayward was in concert at the Barbican on the Thursday night - how intuitive that he should arrange to be there when I had a couple of days off!). Taking our... More

I stayed here on the 4th July 2015 as part of a fairly large group, for a Hen Party. The rooms are lovely, we had a triple room which was spacious, well decorated, clean, light and airy. The beds were very soft with good pillows and lovely crisp bedding, and there were huge picture windows which were striking and made... More
