Good value for the money paid breakfast was good hotel room clean and quite although as previous reviews décor needs updating (but we were not there for décor) Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful and excellent location, only 10min max walk to city gates. We had a top floor room so Wi-Fi was not very good up there but excellent in... More

Just back from a really lovely weekend at Hedley House Hotel. We had a massive room, lovely and clean, comfy bed, everything that we could have asked for. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, nothing would have been too much trouble for them. A very relaxing hotel, we enjoyed a lovely relaxing glass of wine in the bar while... More

We stayed during half term week and the hotel managed to fit us in for a family room for two night at £ 250. The staff are friendly and the hotel is ok. Parking is first come first served as is breakfast. A couple of minor gripes: The family room we stayed in was very small and tired. Lots of... More

We stayed several nights here recently, and found the location to be quite good, very easy to get into the centre of York on foot. We liked that the hotel is a converted row of terraced houses. The breakfast was tops. The shower was nice and hot, another plus. The only downside was that one of our beds had a... More

We stayed for a weekend recently on the recommendation of a friend. We were not disappointed. Although the room we stayed in was a little tired looking, it was clean and the bed was comfortable. All the staff we encountered were friendly and the reception staff were so helpful. The breakfast was excellent and all the waiting staff were very... More

Staff are friendly and helpful. The food is very good but the rooms are tired and could do with some re-decoration. Parking at the hotel is on a "first-come, first served" basis. York is approximately a 10 minute walk from the hotel. York itself is compact and easy to walk around, there are many attractions to see within the town.

We booked two rooms for two pairs of adults for two nights well in advance of our recent stay. Further, the booking arrangements (we used booking . com) allowed us to choose whether the rooms should also have baths, which we selected for both rooms. I even emailed them to confirm that both rooms had baths which they did confirm.... More

A two day stay here and almost perfect. Wonderful service and excellent food. Parking the only let down having to park dangerously close to other cars in order to get into the crowded and small car park.

Last time we visited we had a small room but was good for what we required, this time given a Hugh room which was excellent however if you have trouble with stairs ask for a lower level room as it became a bit of a chore walking up and down, rooms cleaned everyday and the breakfasts were beautiful, car park...
